It's been rainy and in the mid 40's to lower 50's all week. Good part is that the bulbs are coming up and some of the bushes are starting to bloom already.

It snowed here!!! We got about six inches of the stuff. A lot of snowmen were built and by afternoon started melting. LOL.

My son bent, twisted, glued and taped wires in the heating unit. Whala heat..... For how long, God only knows.......Seems nobody wants to call a heating/ac repairman... I personally think it could be dangerous since my son isn't trained in heating/ac.... a few sparks and the unit started working... shrugs shoulders ....But you know men, they know everything... ANYWAY, the good thing is , we have heat.....

radio_flyer,

I understand about the heat pump's.....they are a pain.....not only that but they are expensive to run then the temps outside are in the 20's & below when it's necessary to run the emergency heating.....all those heat strips gobble up the electricity & drive up the electric bill......I can't afford to pay my electric bill in the winter.

We have had a very cold winter here in KY this year.....I haven't been using my heat pump to keep my house over 50.....just need to keep my pipes from freezing. I moved upstairs into the one room that has a separate heater & then I use my single room heaters to keep myself warm in the room I am living in (my master bedroom). Having come from California where the heating costs are nothing compared to this.....it really hurts.

I love the snow we get though.....it's so beautiful.....guess the tradeoff is worth it in the long run. Wind & blowing snow right now....temp around 32F.....going to be beautiful white in the morning as I looked out on my front porch light lit yard with the white blanket of snow on it.

Yoda, I am sure that our storm is heading your way.

Here, it's looking dull outside, I have the heating on because it's cold but it's still nice to look outside and see the birds fluttering about. Makes the World and my life feel real again
