The 2010 Buick Lacrosse, built on GMs next generation Epsilon platform this very handsome sedan is a great alternative to upscale imports like the Lexus ES 350, Toyota Avalon, Acura TL and Audi A4.
The comes with 2 available 6 cylinder engines, with up to 280hp, front wheel drive is standard, all wheel drive is optional. A six speed automatic comes standard, along with a lengthy list of standard safety and comfort features. Rounding our the package is a gorgeous high quality interior. ![]() ![]() Not to be outdone GM rival Ford has brought the Taurus back from the rental car doldrums and crafted a very nice attractive sedan. The car comes standard with a 263 Hp V6 and a 6 speed Automatic. A special sport model, The "SHO" packs a twin turbo V6 with a whopping 355HP and 22MPG, that is with standard all wheel drive for that model. V8 performance with V6 gas mileage. The Tauras competes with a number of full size and upscale cars. ![]() ![]() Both of these show that Detroit can build truly world class cars anyone would be very proud to one. |

Actually I was pleasantly surprised with a Ford product recently. My car was in the shop for 3 days having new break lines repaired, and I wound up renting a Ford Focus.
When that was the only rental I could get, I was initially dissapointed but after driving it for a few days I was pleasantly surprised. It handled well, in both city and highway driving, had good acceleration and a smooth ride. Some of the controls were in weird places, I thought but some of the features that I'd consider "add on's" were nice. It still didn't get as good mileage as my civic but it wasnt' horrific. I'm probably going to be car shopping in the next 2 -3 years and I'd consider it. --splitimage |

Thanks for your response, The Domestic Auto industry really has to struggle with compact class cars, this is where the Japanese cost advantage has hurt them the most. It looks like the next couple of years are promising though.
Ford is bringing its European model Focus here next year to replace the model you rented as an '11. Pic below is the European version, ours will look very similar: ![]() Also in the B segment below it, Ford brings in the Fiesta, this car has garnered much praise in Europe and will launch here next year: Chevrolet will replace the aging Colbalt with the Cruise, a mini Malibu that features an optional small turbo engine that will enable the car to get 40MPG ![]() The car is already on sale in Europe. |

one word: nice
if I learn how to drive and get a car I want my car to be made in the USA, but I also want a car with the best gas mileage I can get for my money so I'm not sure what I'd get... |
