Well, I am now baking honey, whole wheat bread.. Have flour all over the kitchen .. and some flour all over my shirt... I don't know how to knead so I did what i think kneading would be.. got it smooth and elastic as the recipe called for..... now the glob of four is rising and i am cleaning up all the mess.........I lost my glasses so i can't actually see what i am typing.... but that doesn't matter because soon the house will be smelling like homemade bread... that is if the smooth glob of dough rises so i can bake it...... so guess my day/evening is going ok....

Yummy! Your day sounds better than mine. I'll be right over with some homemade strawberry jam and we can eat bread and jam and tea.

Well come on over... This is the "first" time I've tried baking bread, so no guarantee how it turns out... But I have a feeling it is going to be delicious. Esp with homemade strawberry jam, tea and good company ..

I used to make bread in my bread machine. It was handy to do all the kneading. But alas I lost a piece of it.

Be right over...

So... how is your day going?

umm the bread did not turn out that great... .. kind of heavy.... actually very heavy.. might make a good "decorative" door stop..will try again, this evening... before I place it in front of a door, I might try some french toast or bread pudding... which ever comes first... guess we shall see..

Try kneading it a little longer, about ten h´min, and let it rise a good long bit before you punch it down. I tend to give it too little time in the rising, and i get brick bread! good enough to serve to your friends, heavy enough to brain your enemies!

Thanks for the tip lonegael.. I only kneaded the dough maybe a minute. And I forgot to punch it down when I divided the dough to put in the baking pans. I just squeezed it in half and put in the baking pans.. I can say the color of the baked bread is beautiful.. Smells great too.... Just the eating part is questionable.. Well it actually isn't that bad when topped with a bit of butter and lots of honey.. One tiny piece and one would feel "full" for a week.. haha

Funny post you guys - I agree with Lonegael - you need to kneed let the bread, let it rise, shape and put it in the pan and let it rise again in the pan before baking it.

Well I've spend my whole staying home with my 8 yr old who's sick. I think I'm getting it, because I have a klller headache.

I try my best to be optimistic in the forums here usually. But I will venture and say, I feel completely crappy today, physically and mentally.

My days seem to be creeping by and I think they'll be like that all month until we move into our new apartment. I can't wait!

Oh, please, don't ask! I know I chose in my work to mine the black seam och the human heart, but I didn't expect it to come looking for me at home, right after a particulary devasting evaluation I did yesterday. Normally I can just retank and deal with it, but last night.... AAAAAARGH!
You know the old song, "If I had a rocket launcher...."
