Today I'm thankful that I started this thread as a reminder to remind myself to look at things that I've reason to be thankful for as a way to keep myself from slipping into total despair.
I'm thankful for my artful talents regardless of how meager they may seem at times.

I am thankful for my dogs, they are such clowns and always make me smile, and of course always have a cuddle for me

I'm thankful for being able to connect to a man who is hundreds of miles away from me, but is able to share stories about growing up black in America, and music and art and a bunch of other things we have in common.

I am thankful to Kayelless for starting this thread. Even when I can't articulate something to say this thread reminds me to walk in a spirit of gratitude no matter what.

Thank you Kayelless.

Today I'm thankful for my dear sister. She's very wise, patient, opened minded and very supportive of her younger brother.

I'm, also, thankful for intellectual agitation which stills thoughtful debate leading to growth.

I write down every night before I go to bed, five things I'm grateful or thankful for. I call it the 'daily five'. Here are today's:

- Brushing the dog's teeth
- Proper sleep
- Work
- President's Choice The Decadent chocolate chip cookies
- Being able to afford to send my father a gift basket for his birthday

That's great, stabler!

Today I am thankful for my therapist. I had a telephone appointment and I was able to get a lot off my chest and I felt better afterwards.

I am thankful for the easy conversation with my mum. I was tired of show-offs
I am thankful for the tiredness. I am tired of insomnia.
I am thankful for the sun shining today. I was tired of rain.
I am thankful for my daughter's smile. I was tired of crying.
I am thankful for still being alive. I came so close to the other end.

How do you brush your dog's teeth? We tried, it didn't work!

Anyway, I am thankful I am finally meeting with someone about Social Security Disability next week.
Thanks for this!

Thankful for.. breathing and still being in the present.

We often don't think of things so trivial like this. I'm thankful for the DNA strand in my body that makes me--me. Every atom.. every molecule, that I am made of. Absolutely everything. Every atom.. every memory, every star in the galaxy. My eyes to see. My ears to hear.

Today I am grateful for the opportunity to explain to two warring factions that beneath the clothing and religion we are all the very same people, and that they should be ashamed of the hate they preach. I hope I left a message of basic truth with them

I'm thankful for friends. At a time I should be crushed and lost I instead feel full of life and truly content, all because just a few old friends I hadn't heard from in ages took the time to say hi to me. I'm really starting to believe in fate, why else would this happen so suddenly during a hard time none of them are aware of?
