So I look cool wearing it, I havent wore it outside yet, but it looks awesome. I finally bought it - it's been out a while.

It's this -

Do you think I should wear it outside?
Do you think anyone will try and shoot me?

Let's see... wasn't there a story a week or so ago about police shooting and killing a middle schooler who brandished a pellet gun?

Do you need to tempt fate?

I've worked as a cashier and counter person for many years. I've gotton to know many law enforcement people. They are human, like everyone else. They have a difficult job as well as an unpopular job, then they have to go home to their spouse and kids and moms and dads and the rest and try to behave appropriatly, even though they are vilified daily and need to confront armed perpetrators as a part of getting paid to support themselves and their family. I think it is an essential job, in todays world.

They will not attack you, without cause. If you aren't a threat to yourself or anyone else, they will not confront you, nor attack you or detain you. I've known a good number of them, they seem reasonable and friendly to me. If they do think your an immediate threat to yourself or anyone else, they will act appropriate to the situation, with what tools they have to use. I know they can't use deadly force unless it is a last resort to avoid innocent people from becoming injured or killed. I'm not sure of the laws on flak jackets, or bullet proof vests, but I doubt they are "that" illegal, if they are, in fact, illegal. That would not be a crime that would require deadly force, if you just wore a flak jacket. I'm not sure about that word. Well, bullet proof vest. If you ask me, my advice is it is safe to wear it in public. If it is illegal, they should just tell you and, most likey, give you a warning. They might confiscate it, but I doubt it. Your good. Feel free. carry on. have a good time.

Well not just the police - but anyone really.

I'll see how it goes.

Gun crime isn't high in my area, but that doesn't mean someone wouldn't find it funny to shoot me.

i know you worry about the gang stalkers hurting you but i wouldn't wear the fake vest outside...maybe in the winter when you have a heavy jacket or sweater covering it but never with just a shirt on or something light only.

i am not sure but it might actually be illegal to possess one (here in the us) without valid law enforcement reason & wear it around..& i realize the gang stalkers might be considered valid reason over there.

but that said...you are more like to run into some jerk who will think it is just fun to try & mess with you for because you have a vest on for no reason...& try to stab or shoot you "just because" & then your vest will not protect you. sometimes when idiots come out of pubs a little (or a lot) drunk they do stupid things...& if they came across you with the vest on you might get hurt...they would see the vest & think lets see how well these things work...& unfortunately yours won't.

i don't want you to get hurt....you're a good person...i like your posts (even tho i have no idea who the people are on the pictures on them..but that's ok)...i think you are better off just continuing to be really cautious & careful...can you get some pepper spray? is that legal over there? that might be something to think about.

be safe.
Thanks for this!

That would be a strange joke, I've never heard of anyone being murdered at random to amuse the perpetrator. At least not in low crime neighborhoods. Also, I don't think many people get away with murder these days. Even violent people would hesitate before commiting to an act of murder, given the likelyhood of being detained in prison for 15+ years or more. Or the death penalty, depending on which state they are in. You haven't posted anything that causes me to think your in real danger. It sounds to me, from your posts, that it is the voices in your mind. Let the words of your nurse, therapist and psychiatrist in to your mind. Accept that they might know something that you do not right now. They might know something that will help you. Good luck

actually numerous attacks, & killings do happen for just that reason...or for less that than...most serious injuries occur not from re-meditated incidents but from spur of the moment, emotion fueled (& substance too) outbursts. you don't have to live in a high crime area for this.

again..i just want you to be safe...from the gang stalkers & those that are just stupid.
Thanks for this!

I worked in a costume shop over Halloween and they had bullet proof vests for sale. They weren't quality authentic, but looked good enough to pass.

The off duty police officer providing security for the store was not in favor of non-law enforcement people wearing it no matter the reason. He said situations can come up where he/police have to make a split second decision. If you dress like someone who can do harm then harm may happen.

Kureha, I always enjoy your posts and think you're a really good person. I wouldn't want you to get hurt for any reason.

That way people won't notice at much.

My pictures are Kate Beckinsale in my sig and the other is Gerard Way

Pachyderm, Kureha lives in the UK. I'm not a hundred percent certain, but I think she's white. Although the police occasionally shoot to kill I'm not aware of them shooting and killing an innocent white woman, so I think she's okay from the police.

Looks cool Kureha... did you see that link I sent you for the stab proof vest?

Mgran - I changed mind about a real one - they'd only go for head shots or my neck.

Lol - I like your dog, I'm sorry one of your other ones has a tumor.

I can't imagine living in your state of mind, I admire your stength! Do you use caffine or energy drinks often? I stay away from those myself, unless I feel tired while driving, or I need to work while tired. Maybe you pdoc or T can help you eliminate those things in you life that might be making you too afraid. Fear can be deadly, I hope you get help soon. I want to read a happy hopeful post from you also sometimes.

I don't drink loads of energy drinks - my psychologist said I shouldn't.
Well my nurse is back soon, I see her in a few weeks - so that's good.

I'm glad that it is good to see your nurse. I am helped by my therapist. He helps me get my emotional needs met by giving me suggestions on how to deal with others. He revealed to me that I have no idea what a healthy expression of anger would be for me. I'm working on expressing anger in a healthy way. I'm a muscular male with a tendency towards psychosis. I need to be sure I don't frighten people. It would be damaging to them. I would feel guilty also. And, frightened people do desperate things, I learned that the hard way. When I was a kid, I thought being scary was an OK game. It isn't, not these days. Good luck and enjoy your day!

I like it KUREHA, I think wearing it inside would be fine, Outside not so much wouldn't want to draw attention to myself if it was me. It is an awesome looking vest though! Take care and be safe.

Um ... I might wear it to a concert, a dance or a rave, but for everyday use I'd pass ... Time & Place for Everything ... For what it's worth ... And all that jazz ... It does look good though ...
