It drives me mad, there's always some excuse, every time I ring, email or chat; I am not eligible; my contract is over or they just having some random problem, why does nobody ever help me‽‽‽‽ ![]() Hello, Welcome to RandomHost. Alexander: My website has a MySQL error! AraM: Currently our system is being upgrades at the moment. Upgrade will last another hour. I can suggest submitting a ticket to support. We can look into your account as soon as the upgrade is complete. AraM: We are sorry for the inconvenience. Alexander: Oh no you are not, oh what grounds do you feel sorry? You're still getting paid. Alexander: "our system is being upgrades" Upgraded* Where are you from, Africa? India? China? Mhhm? Do you actually work for RandomHost .Inc? Alexander: Why can't you collect information and submit it for me? AraM: This info will need to come from your admin email address as chat is not secure for account verification. AraM: Plus there is no way for me to verify you are an owner if i can not look up your account info. AraM: If you require support to further investigate this issues you can send your request to support@randomhost.com Alexander: Oh… But this is horrific, my website is down. You could not imagine what that means for me... AraM: We are sorry for the inconvenience. Alexander: Your service is absolutely dreadful! and for that matter also intensely dissatisfying!… What can you do? You must me able to do something? Anything? AraM: At this point until the upgrade is complete request that you submit a ticket to support. Alexander: Oh you're one of them…. You're just here for me to share my problems with and to comfort me and tell me "there's nothing we can do", I know your kind. Alexander: The kind that can do nothing for me... AraM: There is not much I can do as our systems are being upgraded for another hour. We suggest you submit a ticket to support until this is complete. AraM: Thank you for you time and patience. Alexander: I don't like tickets, they take far too long, up to 48 hours in fact, this job is on my To-do list for__ right now... Alexander: I just want my website to work! Alexander: Please make my website to work! Alexander: talk to me until the upgrade is done! AraM: Sorry I can not. AraM: Please contact us back in 1 hour please. Alexander: But you have to, it's in your private policy, your job is to satisfy the customer! I'm looking at it right now & I am the customer! AraM: Or submit a ticket to support. AraM: Thank you for you time and patience. Alexander: Your job is to satisfy the customer! Do you not understand!?! Alexander: I will not be satisfied until I have been helped! Alexander: I am like a baby with no mommy! Alexander: You can't just leave me. AraM: Thank you for you time and patience. Alexander: You can have my time but I am growing impatient! Sorry, had to smile, so many times I have had odd conversations with BT, SWEB, etc and I do think they read from a script. Regardless of what we say they'll stick to what they have been taught to say. I hope you get your problem sorted out soon.

I always call my site hosts on the phone now, and still, one has problems like that where they don't get it (or I don't because their sites are too "arbitrary" and full of extra stuff that doesn't apply to you :-) and it takes forever to get someone to understand the problem. I have three hosts and 1-1/2 of them are pretty good but the other 1-1/2. . .

Well there's your problem, throwing a hissy fit is no way to fix your internet. I'm not going to console and "share your problems and comfort you and tell you 'there's nothing you can do'" because I'm not that kind of person.
I've got att and my internet crashes multiple times in just an hour...and I spend all day on the internet. It's worse for my brother who wants to play videogames but can't even finish a round because his game lags and crashes. Find another way to deal than whine and complain. Go to some other company if this company truly isn't any good. If your contract isn't up then pay the fines and switch to somewhere else. Last edited by sabby; Apr 09, 2012 at 04:43 PM. @DrSkipper personal connection issues are far different from website hosting ones.
While the occasional downtime for upgrades is not totally unreasonable for a VERY small hosting company, big ones should be able to make them seamless and transparent. You largely get what you pay for. Personally I'd consider self hosting. |
