Today I took a shower, brushed my teeth and washed my hair and took a walk and posted with my support groups!

What did you do for yourself today? Only helpful things please!

Does this seem stupid? If I reported it would they remove it for being stupid? I really was in a much more cheerful mood when I wrote this.

I did the exact same stuff as you today but my hair is pretty short so using shampoo when I shower is quick. My friend was in town for the first time in months and we went on a walk (which I rarely do). PsychCentral is my "support group" and I posted here lol.

I did some laundry, then went to the thrift store to look at books.
I love to read so this is good for me. I didn't buy any books this time,
but I probably will next time.
I have a Kindle e-reader and I am reading Brave New World. I am
almost finished reading it. I think I will go on-line and get a new book to read.
Thanks for this!

I did wash my clothes! That reminds me I need to put them in the dryer! Reading is a nice passtime! I did read a little today. How do you like your kindle compared to a regular book? That would be nice to be able to get a new book anytime without worrying about bookstore or library hours. We have too many books and not enough places to keep them.
Thanks for this!

I'm glad you were able to get all those things done! Congrats! I did manage to wash and groom myself today and my hubby took me to my church to help in the office. I answered the phone, let people in the door, etc. I feel good that I actually did something helpful. I do have days, like some of you, too, where I don't even get out of my night clothes and just park in my La-z-gal recliner most all day.

That sounds like a good day. I volunteer sometimes but I haven't made it there lately. I also have days when I can barely move myself at all, so washing and grooming and self care in general are all good things. Getting out of the house for a little bit is always a plus too!

Today I filled out the paperwork for the job training. It will be a big help to have a little income again. I hope the placement works out. Last night I followed the suggestion of my online wellness coach and did some deep breathing exercises before I went to bed. She had me close my eyes and focus on my breathing for five minutes and then name 5 things that I was grateful for or I had done right that day.

1) I took care of myself by bathing and grooming
2) I'm grateful that I was able to forgive my Mother so that we now have a good relationship. I once thought this would never be possible.
3) I'm grateful that my online coach got back to me quickly this week when I know they are busy.
4) I took a walk with my puppy which gave me exercise and her joy of running
5) I am grateful that I found the paperwork I needed for the job training registration.

Kudos IowaFarmGal!

I love this thread, I think it's awesome to post things like that here.

I took a shower, went to work and had a good day. When I get my first paycheck I am going to give some to my parents and then buy some much needed new clothes. (Hate shopping now because I'm so fat, but I need them!)

I bought myself $35 in credits for new audiobooks as a graduation gift to myself. I feel super guilty about it but I know I will enjoy the next few books in A Game of Thrones.

I tried the breathing/gratitude exercise again last night. It didn't go quite as well and I had to keep bringing my mind back from the dark side. It still counts though because I was trying to help myself. My wellness counselor says that although the negative won't go away completely, eventually it will take up less room.

1) I'm grateful that my brother is there for me, if I only remember to ask for his help.
2) I'm grateful that my wellness coach accepts me where I am and accepts my imperfect efforts.
3) I'm happy with myself for getting another 5 mile walk in.
4) I'm grateful that others accept my thread and are posting with me.
5) I appreciate others for sharing what they find helpful in their lives.

I did some chores, not too many. I am feeling very ill today, I'm sure I accidentally ate some gluten I shouldn't have. I am going to yoga at 7pm, not sure how that will go feeling so sick, but I'm gonna do it. Not a very productive day for me, but I made myself rest, and am trying not to feel guilty about that.

Brave New World is a good book, been meaning to read it again. Hope you enjoy it. kudos to everyone. I like this thread too.

Sorry you are feeling sick. They sneak wheat in where you least expect it sometimes. I hope you feel better soon and the yoga class is helpful.

Today I cut the donuts in half and didn't eat all 4 that I brought into the house. Did you know it was national donut day?
Thanks for this!

I cleaned myself up again and took the car for an oil change. I went out to lunch with Mom and turned down pie even though she persisted. I had tea instead of soda pop, so doing well so far on no sweets.

I walked to the store very early, when there is no traffic, and it is very peaceful, bought a few bartlett pears and blueberries, and some milk, and walked home.
