Would love a cup of tea tonight. Regular tea with just milk, no need for any snacks today. Just want something to make me feel better.

I made myself some green tea with honey tonight. Am going to pour it over some ice when it finishes brewing. I need something cold to drink tonight.

Thank sounds lovely LL! Iced tea isn't too popular here in England (that i know of!), so is what you described called an iced tea?
Is it just as simple as letting a cup of black tea (or fruit tea) go cold, then putting it in the refrigerator?

yep. and you can add lemon, or (while still hot) sugar and/or peppermint or whatever you like
i like to make sun tea in summer (tea bags of choice in pitcher covered with clear wrap with fresh peppermint/other spices, set out in the sun for a few hours, strain and chill---ice if you like I always add a wedge of fresh lemon just before drinking.

This is an evening I could definitely use a nice cup of regular tea with just milk. It has just been one of those days and I'm sure a cuppa is one thing that can put a smile on my face.

Any kind of tea can be made into iced tea. You brew it as usual, I like strong tea, so I brew it very strong. Once it finishes brewing you can chill it in the fridge or pour it over ice. Hence the name iced tea. A couple of companies here in the States have developed a cold brew tea. You use cold water to brew it so it's ready once it finishes brewing. Folks here in the Southern States drink way more iced tea then we do regular (hot) tea.

On one of our trips to Ireland Mom and I were jonseing for some iced tea. We'd ask for it in resturants only to be told they didn't serve it. One day we both chugged down our ice water and poured our cup of tea over the ice. We got some strange looks, but it satisfied us.

The lovely tea trolley rolls by and I reach out for a big hot cup of 'Constant Comment' tea with a stick of cinnamon, oh and one of those lemon squares.
All is well. I open my book, take a sip and drift away.

I turn my back for 2 mins, and everyone comes at once!!

AlternateUniverse- i hope you helped yourself last night, the tea trolley is open 24/7, even when i am not here. I hope you are feeling better today too.

Trippin- i hope the Ginger tea helped? I love that stuff!

lizardlady- i am going to have to make some iced tea i think! The reason its probably not too popular here is that we are always so cold, we need it warm!

winter4me- that sounds really yummy, i hope you enjoyed it

shortandcute and lizardlady - *passes a GIANT mug of coffee each*...mmm, nice! Enjoy

What's the consensus on English Breakfast tea? I sent this note for fun [slightly edited] to my sis upon 'my great revelation'...Anyone else have an opinion on this stuff?

I was outta tea...so like a laddie all familiar wi' th' neighbour-folk,

I trots over next door.

We only drink flavoured tea, says the missus...

Is that ok?

I may have hesitated...I'm guessin' I did...

Oh wait, she says...I have some Earl Grey and some English Breakfast...

...and we don't drink that...would you like to have them?

Not wishing to offend and wishing for a miracle I says,

That would be fine! Thank youse very much!

***Now I've had The Earls tea before...once.

Tasted like it was brewed with Sunlight detergent dishwater.

English BREAKFAST tea??? No idea.***

Things was precarious...raspberry chamomile I couldn't imagine...or any other stew...I'm a black tea guy...

So I thinks to meself...I'll host the Lemon Earl if the English Breakfast don't fly...beggars can't be...whiners...right?

Thank you again! I says...and runs off to the little galley I calls me kitchen.

Jenny Jenny Jenny...

You HAVE to get some EBTea.

Orange Pekoe?

I don't know them words...dim memories fading quickly at best...

H'inglish Breakfas' tea baby...Mongo Bongo Hoo-Ha!!

TEA!!!

*drool slather and such...*

#$$#@!! delightful stuff...

Do 'er up...black tea blend it is.

Tastes more like tea than anything I've ever had.

Slogan-y name is misleading...I thought it might be 'orrible.

2nd boiling for round two imminent...

as soon as I hit send.

Go! Get!

*grin*

So...teafolk of PC...is this stuff popular? Twinings is what I bought...in wee sealed bags...when I buy again it'll be in loose leaf form from a decent shop. As far as I'm concerned I've never had tea in my life...before this. Actually I've been drinking Orange Pekoe since I've been 3 or 4...sort of a cultural tradition in NFLD...Dear mama would give us kids a weak brew of course.

Anyway...English Breakfast...Judas, Murphy and Jimmy!...it be sum good stuff! Pardon the rambling post...I'm having a bit of a high-flying driven day...the tea is gravy on top...

Signed, Insane Q
Thanks for this!

I'm not a fan of it, though it smells wonderful. I only drink herbal because for some reason caffeinated teas do not do well with me. Same with coffee. I can only drink decaf.

On that note, I'll have a steaming cup of peppermint, please.

I'm loving this stuff HT! My tea consumption these past few days has doubled easy...I've had to curb the sugar [nearly halved it per cup] but I don't really notice and the dry feeling always left after Orange Pekoe is near non-existant with EBTea...for my first cup I add a bag of green as well...unsure if the health benefits of the green are compromised but it's still tasty. Augh! I need a cup right now!

What a discovery! Well it's about time...awesome!
