I just turned 21 and figuring out what alcohol does to me physically and mentally/emotionally. I do great with rum, I do fine with vodka...tequila...I'm not so sure. When I went to the Embassy Suites with my family, I had 4 glasses of tequila-based drinks and felt sick to my stomach. Tonight I had patron and had three shots plus a smirnoff ice because I forgot that mixing drinks makes you sick and was laughing my *** off hysterically but I also had a mild stomach ache but nothing serious, likely because of the smirnoff ice.

I have a few concerns and this is going to get real complicated real quick: My best friend and I decided on sleeping over at her house tomorrow and get ****faced and she said she'd make out with me tomorrow. I'm fine with this but I also want to make sure that she's okay with this when she's sober, and I want to make boundaries before we do that too and not sure how to go about setting those boundaries. I'm worried we might go crazy and have sex because the tequila made me crazy horny and I think in the moment I might go for it, but I've never had sex and she's never had sex with a girl. I'm not sure how to be honest about this and ask her "so, were you serious about making out? And what would happen if we got so drunk we had sex?" Like, I would want to know before hand if we were making out or having sex or not because in the moment it would be hard to make a decision, obviously. I'm fine with the ****faced part, I'm more worried about unplanned romance.

And second, this might be a type of alcohol that makes me sick. I honestly have no idea. I've only drank till I puked once, and I've heard tequila makes you do crazy things more than any other alcohol, my mom says it does crazy things to her, and there's even the song "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off", so I'm wondering what tequila does for other people and what other people's limits were. We're planning on buying the little bottle of patron.

I think tequila is stronger then vodka in alcohol content. But I doubt there is anything that special about it. Booze like booze, imho.

Does nothing special to me. Absinth is the crazy maker.

Absinth is illegal in the US, at least in California.

It is no longer illegal in the US, do not believe in California either. It was lifted in the 2000's

Well, I'm not talking about absinthe. I'm talking about tequila.

Tequila is my favorite by far. I don't know if you want to mix it with much though. My experience is that cheap tequila & mixers are the problem, cause headaches, vomiting. Shots, of good quality tequila, a sipping tequila, will avoid the sick part, at least for me.

As to how crazy it makes you? Well that, like everything depends on the quantity. For me, it really does let down the inhibitions, but I have an inner control that won't let "the clothes fall off" or other inappropriate things...in public.
I did see a girl in a cantina in MX one time do a strip tease...really wrong! It was the dinner hours & there were lots of families all around! The waiters watched & waited until the underwear was going before they stopped her. Her friends? Laughing their heads off, Not helping her. I tried to get her to sit down and she took a swing at me... My experience is that it is usually the most inhibited sober people use the alcohol as an excuse to let go when drinking. Just my observation.
I also know of a kid who drank so much he wandered out onto the beach and died. It happens.
Be safe, don't over do. Alcohol poisoning is a real thing.
And do set up your ground rules with your friend while you are sober. Perhaps you will get this out of your system? Best to you

I hear you healingme4me. I am (of course) speaking of a former life... not interested in being, as they used to call it...shy yie yie faced... anymore. Been there, done that.

Tequila makes me drunk. That's it. I don't have any emotional changes from alcohol. Also, the idea that this alcohol makes you do X and this other alcohol makes you do Y is psychological. Tequila won't make you do anything different than rum unless you think it will.

Ya know, it's the darndest thing, but, tequila affects me exactly like whiskey, vodka, gin, bourbon, scotch, rum and several other kinds of liquors that for some foggy reason I don't seem to remember much about. Yeah, if I drink more than, say, maybe 8 or 10 ounces of the stuff in less than an hour I ALWAYS end up experiencing zones of extreme gravity where I have a difficult time standing up. Sometimes it even gets so strong that it drives me to my knees and I can only crawl around... There's one memorable time that I seem to recall drinking large quantities of ouzo and peppermint schnapps in an effort to get "caught up" with my in-laws that had a 2 hour head-start. THAT time the gravity was so bad that it pulled everything right of my stomach and made me sleep on the bathroom floor!

Alcohol affects people differently. The only people who say that it doesn't affect them are the people who have high tolerance to alcohol.

I have low tolerance to alcohol, so it does affect me differently both physically and mentally.

Anyway, last night my best friend and I drank a bottle and a half worth of patron and it was a crazy, crazy night, yet we both remembered it and none of us threw up.

I don't enjoy the taste, so actually, I hope I never find out.

From the stories I've heard, it seems to be a bad/bad for most people. And it has been known to alter behaviour and lower judgement skills faster, and for longer, than other alcoholic drinks.

No, no me quiero, muchas gracias!

I don't really like tequila. Rum makes me sick. Vodka is my favorite.
