I've been playing about 4 years now and I'm looking for a new guitar to replace my old Ibanez. The one I have now is okay...not great. It sounds nice but it can't hold tune for more than two songs and I just don't feel that it's the right one for me.
I'm saving up to buy one for my birthday in June - I've been looking at another Ibanez, one of the Artcore's in fact. I haven't been to Guitar Center to try one out - basically, I'm just going to save, save, save my money until I have a lot - however, I think it might sound like what I want.
To put it in simple terms, I like full sounds. I'm more of a rhythm person, not a lead. I think that a more hollow body will produce the sound I'm looking for. However, I want more of an electric than acoustic sound, so I'm taking that into account when I try out the Artcore.
I'll be at the store for a couple hours, haha. I've also got a new guitar strap and some nice strings on my list of guitar needs.

My question to you all is, if you were to recommend me a guitar, which would it be? What's the best one you've ever played? Also, favorite strings?
All input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Howdy,
I've been playing about 17 years now. I'm a lead man. But I know what nice rhythm sound your looking for. I have an esp ltd. It is a fixed bridge guitar and I have 10's on it for my "full" sound. On the other side of the coin, I have an esp with a Floyd rose and 9's for when I want to shred. I happen to love esp. No real reason, just a preference. You can get a nice les Paul knockoff that will play great and produce the sound your looking for pretty inexpensively. A nice set of heavier strings and your golden. And a fixed bridge guitar will always stay in better tune than a guitar with a floating bridge. Always. Unless you have serious action/warping problems.

look into an epiphone. Your still a relatively new guitar player and its a really nice intermediate guitar.

I love my dreadnought acoustic, and I think they're super slinky strings or something or other.

Ibanez are spalways good, strong, lasting guitars. Plus they are reasonable in price. The newer models are pretty sweet. Go check them out, they have a ton of pics online. Post a pic of the one you like...

The TB-303 (short for "Transistor Bass") was originally marketed to guitarists for bass accompaniment while practicing alone. Production lasted approximately 18 months, resulting in only 10,000 units. It was not until the mid- to late-1980s that DJs and electronic musicians in Chicago found a use for the machine in the context of the newly developing house music genre.

The Drumatix is the drum machine. Of course the 909 and 808 being the more famous drum machines out there. Guitar Players: Best Guitar You've Ever Had?

Your in luck. The instruments are very expensive. But you can go to torrent sites and find tons of software to write music again. I used to but it was so time consuming. I got frustrated and it lost it's fun for me awhile back. You should get FL Studio first. Install it then look for VST and DX plug-ins. They are the synths, guitars, all instruments needed. FL will be the composing tool you will use to blend and orchestrate the music together. All the work is done in FL and the plug-ins are loaded into Fl. Youtube has a ton of tutorials to walk you through from learning to use it to writing a full blown production and finally mastering the song into something you can share or sell.

@TheJettSet

Whatever new guitar you get, I would suggest getting name brand locking tuners to replace you current ones. You might have to pay a guitar guy to install them if they don't fit in the slots. Whether your guitar is going to be your back up guitar or you will sell it, it will be a good investment.

I've been playing a long time and I've got a lot of guitars.
I've actually got an artcore.
For the price, it is an impressive guitar. You won't need to change any parts on it.
The pickups give a huge sound on their own so do won't about the hollow body.

Artcores are awesome. So are Gretsches, but they are expensive. The sound of a hollow or semi-hollowbody is rich and sweet like no other.
