I'd LOVE to see these sandals come back in season! Please Ladies that's all I ask! (haha).
When I was growing up women were wearing them everywhere! Besides the unique look, you could hear hear women walking in them from quite a distance away as they slapped against the heel of their foot.

So how many of you still have a pair and wear them today!? And do you remember wearing them in the past!? And will you sign my petition to "bring them back!"

Funny! Had a pair back in the day.
Too old & uncoordinated to wear them now without breaking a hip.

If you call standing still modeling then yes.
Otherwise a health hazard. Not sure about the bike either.

OMG those aren't shoes, they're just two blocks of wood with straps lol. Many things about women impress me but being able to wear some of the shoe styles they are asked (or choose) to wear is near the top of the list
Thanks for this!

Those look really cool!

Yeah I'm not entirely sure how comfortable they would be if you wore them the entire day .....

Some of the more expensive one that were designed for arches and toes were surprisingly comfortable. But noisy, and heavy. No thanks, I'll pass, ask the younger set to bring them back.

I'd take them over some of the crazy high heeled spike shoes we're seeing now. I figure with these I have only a 30% chance of hurting myself. With the heels it jumps to 90. Of course I'm sensitive to these things, since I'm currently in a cast for 6 weeks, after tearing ligaments, after falling in my sensible shoes.

They were pretty comfortable, as they were contoured to the shape of your foot. I couldn't drive in them tho, couldn't feel the pedals thru the wood.

??? I've always perceived those sandals as "old lady" shoes. My frumply SIL would wear them.

Sorry, I am not allowed to wear shoes without a back at work. When not at work I'm either barefoot or wearing boots. These don't look real practical for wearing around the farm!

Splitimage, I have a co-worker who wears 4" stilettos. I don't know how she does it. I'm with you. I'd fall off them and break my neck.

Lol George I know it! It's amazing that 2 pieces of wood & a leather strap could transform a woman's foot to celebrity status! :-)

I LOVE THOSE SHOES!

Ok, so both of my aunts had a pair and they'd wear them to the beach. Of course, I thought everything my aunts had back in the 80's was fabulous....Dr Scholl's sandals, LeSportsac bags, etc...

I bought myself a pair a few years ago. They aren't comfortable after 5 minutes. Actually, they're probably one of the most painful pairs of shoes I've ever worn. No cushioning and yes, you're just walking on a block of wood.

Oh yeah - I remember them. They were called DR. SCHOLLS EXERCISE SANDALS. I never owned a pair and I always wondered how anyone could possibly exercise in them ... or maybe they just gave the wearer a workout keeping them on their feet.
Thanks for this!

They are kind of cool looking...but I am not much of a sandal wearer, especially if they don't have some kind of strap in the back for me it makes it hard to walk if I don't have more heel/ankle support. As far as looks though I think they look better than flip flops.

Lol! Too funny! :-) Though I clearly love these shoes on a woman, i have to agree with you that ive yet to see a woman actually exercising in them. Not unless you count the work out they give the guys whose heart rate is racing when they see women wearing them! :-)

I had a pair. I think they were Dr. Scholls. You get exercised in your feet when you wear them.

Well Lucy D, you know they say in "show business" that the Legs (and in this case the Feet also) are the last things to go...Keep wearing them and working them out! Haha.

Wow! Split Image, I've heard of that saying "Break a Leg", but OMG I hope that you're not *grins* taking too many more of these scripts! And normally those % are something that I can definitely relate to about the High Heels! Not so much from wearing them...but from trying to keep out of the path of them! Haha. Hope you have a speedy recovery and are - back on the runway again! :-)

Iris Bloom Thank you for sharing your comments! And with summer here and ALL the Flip Flops I see that do nothing to contour the foot, I say exchange those flip flops for Exercise Sandals! As for driving in them...I guess they could make for quite the interesting ride though! Haha.
