A coworker, math teacher, at my school got a Golden when her son brought it home from his high school. She is too fastidious to have a dog in her house, so I am adopting.
Will let you all know how it goes!
She's named "Henry," and 6 months old!

I've just posted a pic of Henry and Kelley in my back yard in the members' gallery.
Henry is mostly Golden Retriever...vet said 99%, and so sweet. Kelley, my old dog is establishing dominance, but gently. This morning, I took Henry with me to Petsmart. We had tags made for both her and Kelley, as well as buying a kennel/crate for Henry. I'm going to need this since Henry likes to chew on the furniture!
Last night was like having a new baby! I slept on the sofa and got Henry up under the covers with me. She liked that and gave me lots of slobbery kisses, then settling into a deep sleep. I left the patio door open and she got up several times to "go" outside. Previous owner told me she is not housebroken, and she has had several accidents inside, but goes outside like a good girl if she can get out there!
My cats are freaked out! But Henry is just curious and not harrassing them, so I hope all will settle down here soon!

Henry's a girl? Then her name would be Henrie? Getting a Golden Retriever this evening! Yeah, they are like 3 year olds Getting a Golden Retriever this evening!

Good to hear about the housebreaking...I find this breed really does want to go outside and feels "bad" when they don't...

(((hugs))) What fun! Our puppies are the same age! Getting a Golden Retriever this evening!

Yippeee!! I LOVE Golden Retrievers, I have one myself. They are soooooo lovable!!!! Does she (Her name is Henry?) play growls with you? That's when they get something in their mouths and growl happily as they're wanting you to pet them. My Aggie does it all the time. It cracks me up.
(((((((((Seeker)))))))))))
Enjoy her!!!! Getting a Golden Retriever this evening!

Yes, Pickle, she IS adorable! She slept again with me on the sofa last night, all thru the night, and woke up so sweetly! My old dog, Kelley, started playing with her this morning in the back yard...not growling!
Sky...I didn't know that there was a female spelling of Henry..."Henrie!" I just had a tag made for her with the male spelling, but think I'll get a new one with Henrie on it!
In some ways, I think it's crazy to take another dog, but she has already given me such joy!
