I like my coffee black and VERY strong. Good coffee should not need a cup to hold its shape!

Tea depends on whether it's hot or iced and my mood at the time. I like green iced tea with just a touch of honey. I like a host of different kinds of hot tea. For the most part I like it plain and rely on the flavor of the tea itself.

I take my coffee with sugar and creamer. My tea I only use sugar, mostly drink iced tea except for an occasional cup of chai tea.

I like all tea black tea, green tea, white tea...and herbal teas, sometimes I put lemon or lime and/or honey in tea. As for coffee I drink it black usually, though on occasion I like an unsweetened latte that has the coffee with all its bitterness and some steamed milk....no sugar or flavor syrup or whatever though.

It is sort of funny I often forget that to many people black coffee is a strange thing...only to be reminded when someone seems shocked I didn't add any cream or sugar to my coffee before drinking it. But then I also love dark hoppy ales when it comes to beers I guess I tend to have kind of a taste for bitter flavors.

I take herbal teas straight up, black teas with milk and sugar, chai as a latte and no coffee. can't stand the smell. My family mostly drinks coffee the same way lizard drinks hers, strong and black.

Well I like my coffee with two teaspoons of coffee in my mug and I like it to be milky. As for tea the only tea I drink is peppermint tea.

For tea I like all sorts. When it's made from the tea leaves and served hot, I like green, jasmine, oolong, chrysanthemum, earl grey. Matcha green is probably my favorite.

You can make tea chilled in a similar fashion to making iced coffee. Iced red tea with lemon and a little bit of sugar is good.

Milk tea is one of my favorites. You can make this by adding milk/creamer or using condensed milk (they come in cans at the supermarket). One or two spoonfuls is enough. Be sure to stir to let it melt and mix properly.

If you're into really sweet coffee (like me), be sure to try Vietnamese coffee. It's also made using condensed milk.

I like a bit of creamer in my coffee and lately some soymilk too, for calcium. I hardly ever drink teas but it's not because I don't want to. It's just because I only have one tea and I have to be in the mood to drink it. It's good tea: Chai and I like it by itself with nothing added.

I put a little bit of milk in my coffee, but it has to be lactose-free milk (I cannot tolerate lactose).

Coffee with milk or black, no sugar. I love all kind of tea but I don't think I've ever tried it with milk, sounds good though. I wouldn't turn down tea with sugar but I like it better without.

Tea is mostly black flavored with milk and a sweetener. Sometimes flavored rooibos. Rarely herbal. Coffee is with no sweetener but with plenty of milk.

Much of the time when I make coffee, and drink it...there is a layer of coffee grounds left over in my cup. I also use a French Press as its simple just boil water...throw coffee in, let it steep and push grounds down with plunger thing not to mention, the coffee and water never touches plastic like it would with most coffee maker machines...at least the ones that would be in my budget.

In what way do all of you in this thread brew coffee....anyone else like the French Press method? or are coffee maker machines more common?

I rarely make coffee but when I do I make old timers coffee. There is a ground for it, it is different and made for this method. You simply add the coffee and water to a coffee pot and put it over a heat source. You gently warm it up until you can see a few bubbles, then you set it aside for the grounds to sink.

It's a bit messy to do it this way, but when i have used grounds I just dump it into the compost and bring some water there to swish the most of them out at the location.

When I drink coffee at other people's places it is always French pressed or made in a standard coffee maker.

Do americans have coffee ritual type thing?

In the UK tea has a social type ritual , how its made (in a teapot , that's been heated) special cups and saucers , biscuits, cakes , cigarette ,
My first job after school , the day started with tea break, we had a communal tea set up , we each chipped in with teabags , sugar milk ,

Do americans dunk biscuits in coffee ?

Berthegel, under no circumstance shall there be any dunking of biscuits, of any kind, in the 1st cup of morning coffee! Ok...now that's outta my system, I do hope it's ok to provide the American answer to your question. I would say, the way you drink it in UK with the ritual and all seems much more fun though! :-)

I drink coffee black and tea unsweetened. Except on my days off from work and I let myself go crazy with the sugar & cream; as an incentive to get outta bed.

I've never had a social ritual with coffee or tea either but I wish we did!

I've been known to dip watchamacallit candy bars in black coffee.... soo good.

I don't drink either. I really do not like the taste of coffee; just, yuck. I don't mind tea as a flavoring in other things but by itself as a drink I don't care for the taste of tea. Plus caffeine does not make me feel good.
