Well, as far as I can tell, the notification comes with necessary upgrades to the current Windows OS you have. You could go through the download files and find the notification and delete it, but that is risky tinkering with OS files. Then, when you download the next set of necessary files, you'll just get it again.
TL/DR, no. You're stuck with the notification unless you upgrade. Windows at it's finest. ![]()

Yes, it is very annoying. I don't want to upgrade either, or should I? Has anyone upgraded it?

I just got a new computer with Windows 10. Having come from XP, it seems unnecessarily complicated. But I'm sure I'll get more used to it in time.

Went from 8.1 to 10 and still getting used to it.
Like it pretty good except it turned my speakers to complete static. I don't know how to fix it...something about sound card... ![]() |

I wouldn't upgrade. My computer is still using windows 7. (I was able to get 7 even though 8 was being pushed at the time, glad I made that decision.) I have used windows 10 and I don't like it. I need to get rid of the pop up, too. I know I'll click the "ok" button by mistake at some point. Oh, and I don't know if all of the bugs have been worked out, but I've heard that certain drivers won't work with windows 10. That potential headache is reason enough to just stick with what you've got.

If you enjoy your pirated games then do not upgrade. Another reason being cortana. It's scary! We live in the age of giving up our rights. You're doing that when you downgrade to windows 10

Those were the days when it was easy as pie to find control panel, program files, c:/ drive, and basically anything else that wasn't on the desktop.
Ever since I think windows Vista I have started having a terrible experience. They are trying to hard to be all futuristic type feel. Remember the joy you experienced when switching from windows 2000/ME to windows Vista? They added the nice blue taskbar with the green start button and default background was the hills with grass. It was such a simple change and it made all the difference to me. You could click start>program files>yada>yada or start>control panel>uninstall. So easy to use. Now a days when you click start (windows logo I mean) all this useless bull crap comes up and they want me to learn a completely new OS that is ridiculous especially for users who don't care for touch interface/voice controlled future technology like some sort of robot |

Hmmmm maybe because they don't support XP any longer I'm not getting the messages?

Seriously. I've been really disappointed on all "Windows is searching for a solution..." type messages. I'm starting to think OS X again. Windows wins with Excel and games. I don't used Excel and play very few games. I'm really tired of Windows loading up the pagefile and cache and what seems to be just plain getting tired after a few hours.

I usually resist but I'm going to have to do it when it expires.
