Hi techun5717,
I’m horrible with laundry. I shove everything in, sometimes whites with colors. I know, I know... ![]() ~ Bee

sort...whats a sort...I to wonder. Actually I used to sort, but now I just do my own laundry and my children are doing their own laundry so i just clump it into the washer and hope my whites stay white. I usually don't buy white clothing since it sticks all over the darks. I do sort for sweater and clothes that aren't sweaters. I only hang sheets on the line...you can't beat fresh sheeps...opps I mean sheets.

How to get out pesky fabric stains:
BLOOD - spill more blood around the area of the stain so it won't stand out so much. INK - Fall to knees and plead, "Why, G-d, Why? Why dost thou test me so? MUD - Place large iron-on NASCAR patch over the stain. Apply heat for 60 seconds. TOMATO SAUCE - Take out the mook responsible for your tomato sauce stain by executing him gangland-style. Capeche? COFFEE - Rub cream and sugar into the stain. Apply oral suction. Enjoy rich, robust coffee-stain flavor. WINE - Apply mixture of 1/2 rum and 1/2 coke to self until you no longer care about some freaking stain. CHEWING GUM - Use permanent marker, draw dotted line around the stain. Cut carefully on dotted line. NAIL POLISH - Nail polish stains are actually quite lovely. Why not leave them in for a pleasing "homecrafted" look? |

Hey techun.....
The earliest washing "machine" was the scrub board invented in 1797. Now that brings a whole new meaning to doing laundry. Remember when.........lol |

the first laundry soap...
ashes saturated with the fat from sacrificial animals (probably sheep) mixed in with it...yech...pounded into clothes washed on rocks...now that sounds like fun!!! I wonder if they seperated their dark ash colored clothes from their dark ash colored clothes back then. Personally, I say a small prayer of thanks to the "Sunlight" laundry detergent "g-ds" |

Tech...It seems that this page is all washed up. No one can think of any more funny things concerning laundry...It did seem to have a pretty good run though. Considering it was about laundry.
No one talked about folding your clothes as soon as they come out of the dryer or leaving them laying in a lump in the basket for a day or two while you think about it. So there are probably issues concerning laundry that havn't been discussed. hmmmmm ![]() |

I leave them in a lump until the pile is 2 or 3 feet high on every surface, then pay one of my daughters to put it all away.

i fold mine when it comes out of waher to cut down on ironing, then when its dry i fold it into piles on table and each person has to put away there own, i also prefer to dry washing outside especially the whites as the sunshine helps to keep them white

When I use the dryer I fold them as soon as I take them out....in summer to cut down on expense I hang them outside. Love the fresh air smell....

Ahhh...the paid laundry folders...I always wanted one.
I am almost cronic about folding or hanging things straight from the dryer or washer. I can't begin to describe my dislike of ironing. But I tend to stack folded laundry and dirty laundry on top of the freezer...this causes my partner some concern but he is to nice to say anything ... and I don't recognize humming and hawing as a communication technique. So the vicious cycle continues... ![]() ![]() |

First off, I have NEVER seen any sheep walking around in wool that had shrunk!
![]() As for folding laundry: why? Until you have a neck, back or such injury you might not realize how much a toll folding laundry takes on your body. If I have kicking around clothes, (around the house) they don't get folded, no reason to, the dog doesn't complain about them, and in this heat and humidity a few minutes outside fixes that. As for sheets and linens, again why fold? I shove them into the hall closet on their own shelf. Once it's their turn to be used, wrinkles mean nothing! (though they do take up less room if folded, but that's not an issue for me.) I don't buy clothes that need ironing. (Which means even if it is a pretty blouse, if it's 100% cotton, I don't buy it.) Self care clothes ahhhh that's what I need. I do have some clothes of course that require attention, but they are special... I like jeans because you can wear them several times before washing. (And hey, do you say wash or warsh? ![]()

Sky...I think under the circumstances we should say "Warsh" it has a ring to it.
I agree with the idea that if you purchase clothing that doesn't need ironing to begin with...you can save yourself a lot of work in the future. When is wrinkled clothing coming into style? Sheets??? You have more than one set! Wow Im impressed. lolol |

GEZZZ...I have one set of sheets that I hang on the line when the weather permits and straight back on the bed...love the smell.
I may only have one set of sheets but I have tons of towels and I only use two...go figure. Towels are upstairs and downstairs and everywhere inbetween. It is a dream I have of having a matching set of towels. Sooner or later, it may happen...one day I will put them in the warsh and they will come out the same color...maybe I could put something red in with them and some bleach. Pink towels...yech!!! ![]() |

we use fitted sheets to help with making the bed, only cheap ones from asda/wall mart, its easier for the kids cuts down on jobs for me and they are cotton not thick cotton so they dry quick, i have two sets for each bed, used to have a lot of quilt/duvet covers but after moving i got rid of a lot now down to two each there as well
bearing in mind there are 5 beds here
