This is a great idea! I know that they also use coffee beans for this purpose. The last time I was at Ulta, they had little contains of coffee beans to sniff between sniffing. But I'll be taking my own tea bag now. Thank you for the suggestion, possum.

Jo Malone sounded familiar before, but I hadn't tried any of her perfumes. After looking at the website, though, I need to try some of them, especially the Earl Grey and Cucumber and the Rare Teas collection.
Which blends would you recommend?

I have taken to only wearing perfume for special occasions. It seems everywhere you go these days they are banned

Definitely flowerbomb by viktor and rolf. I don't get to wear perfume oftenas I'm living at home and my mom is incredibly allergic to perfum-y scents, but laat time I ordered from sephora I got a free gift of 8 large perfume samples. I hope to try them soon!
Thanks for this!

I think perfume is lovely but sadly I'm sensitive to the chemicals in it and get a bad reaction if I am around it too long. Love to walk through the perfumery department though, short exposure doesn't seem to affect me.
Thanks for this!

I am more into the earthy notes, but on occasion I like Japanese Cherry blossom. There is a flower smell that CVS had shower gel & in just a cologne spray that was a sunflower scent....more of a woodsy smell than flowery but they quit making it. Anais Anais I used also. It's more of a nice soft powdery smell. I just don't like the sickingly sweet smells, they make my migraine.

I really love the sandlewood scent. Haven't seen it much in perfume but a lot on the oils to burn in the house.

Dolce and Gabana's Light Blue.

anything by Givenchy smells great to me! I prefer the lighter versions ('eau de toilette' sounds so much better than toilet water) rather than the full perfume.

Bath and Body Works came out with new Summer scents today, including one called Beach Nights: Summer Marshmallow. I'm excited to try it!

Habit Rouge. Chergui(pre-reformulation), M7 and so much more.

Is my M7 a vintage? Has there ever been a reformulation? The manufacturer don't really tell you that and sell the same looking stuff with diluted contents or with changed formula. (CK is waste of dough!) I believe the real good stuff is in the middle east, in a country like UAE. All these westernized scents I own are overpriced, with so many ads money pumped into it, yes these are all chemicals in a bottle, there are other concerns like using endangered ingredients, we could all hope that IFRA is doing its job, so that buying any fragrances provides the jobs and we all live sustainably with the nature around us.

You asked me why? Here's an answer.

I just haven't met anyone who shares the consequence, but that's another story for another day.

I discovered Thierry Mugler's Alien today. Unusual and beautiful. The scent is honestly other-worldly. I need a bottle!

I always liked light scents and like you I remember those from my childhood and young adulthood. They would have to be Dolce and Gabana's Light Blue, and Love's Baby Soft.

I hear good things about it, unfortunately though, there aren't many Muglers in my country, may I suggest to everyone "Mugler Cologne"?

Some may call it too soapy or in a worst case, like a laundry powder smell, but I like it. It's definitely unisex type of scent, price is moderate, I'm not big fan of 'clean' scent so, this is kinda fresh clean linen/t-shirt smell to me, the creator(the nose) of this bottle wanted this smell like a moroccan soap, it lasts long enough if you don't sweat it away in a summer heat, this is one of the best summer day time scent of mine. The core note, Neroli does wonder on my skin, I love love love it. I'd think this could be a great gift for someone too.

ETA: About the alien, are you sure you'd want it now? It sounds much more heavier than I remembered reading about it.

Chanel Pour Monsieur Cologne Spray.

Designed in 1955. Oakmoss base and aromatic spices in the middle, personally, this would be much better choice than Eau Sauvage. Wearing this, I feel that I'm not grown up enough to wear this, but I couldn't care less.

EU/IFRA perfume regulation. I need to read more on the subject, the allergic reactions in the populations and the industries secret agenda. What happened back in 2014?

“If we ban citral from perfumes, of which certain elements are allergens, we should ban orange juice. It is absurd. We should not ban nature, only learn how to live with it,” said Frederic Malle, who founded the French luxury perfume company Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle. [Emphasis added.]
Part II: The Perfume Industry & EU Regulations

The quote is from Part I of the blog that I was reading. Some classic perfumes, and their formulas are not protected as intellectual properties. Whether you care about natural ingredients in perfumes or not, there are people who depends on producing the ingredients or using those natural oils as core of their creations.

What EU regulatory body is doing to the industry seems so wrong, I hope someone with time could read the link I provided here.

@Tsukiko

This seems a bit of hijacking the intent of the original post, is this too much?

the thing i hate about perfume is when people feel the need to overdo it

when someone walks in to a room- and the whole room (and the coridor outside smells of it).

i mean, christ. how much do you actually need to wear

i like it too, but i certainly don't go round smelling like 20 beauty shhops in 1

My favorite brand of perfume is Pacifica Perfume. I like them because they are vegan and they smell good. I like the Hawaiian Ruby Guava, Brazilian Mango Grapefruit, and Tibetan Mountain Temple fragrances.
