I just got back from visiting my twin grandsons in Louisville, and decided to take both dogs with me on the 3.5 hour drive. Henry, the 6 month old Golden Retriever, had only been in a car once before and so she cried the whole way there, and was a handful! My older dog was fine. The trip back was kind of amazing, though, since Henry laid down within a few minutes of driving back and slept the entire way!~Amazing that animals can adapt and adjust much better than humans!

I used to sleep in the car to overcome car sickness.Hope Henry is ok now. I feel for him...youre a champion Henry....I wanted to take two of my dogs on a long trip recently and our Polar Bear(dog) is a veteran truck and car traveller...but his wife chilli(dog) hasn't been before...so my husband said no to chilli going...I used to do dog walking and one of the dogs Max a bysinge...was a veteran plane traveller he was a champion too. A two-dog trip... for Henry... A two-dog trip...for Max (who I miss) ((hugs)) for A two-dog trip......kind regards from a dog person...Jjulia

It sounds like she did pretty good!

When Salem was a pup he used to get sick every time we put him in the car. He outgrew it though and now he likes the car. He is a nutball though and he will stand the entire trip. The longest trip we took him on was 6 hours and he stood and paced the whole trip, but he was happy. he likes looking out the windows. And the drooling is just terrible we drape the backseats in blankets to soak up the drool.

We are taking him to NY next month which will be 10 hours, and then we are going to take him into canada from there. A two-dog trip...

Yeah...I felt pretty proud of myself and the dogs for making the trip! Now, I think to myself, "I can do this!!!" Like taking them camping to Lake Erie!
