I only have expectations of MY man.

Masculine, assertive and pajama=less.

You can expect anything you want. So can anyone else.

Just fyi, this thread is in the General Social Chat forum. If you'd like to engage in mansplaining, I believe you blokes have an entire forum of your own for that.
It's disappointing that any criticism about expectations of men is dismissed as 'mansplaining', but that response is indicative of the attitude that I was already referring to.

The problem is that these expectations are so widespread, as well as harmful.

I personally don't think there is anything wrong with this thread. It's only people's opinions. It isn't the same thing as telling the person they cannot do something.

Yes it is, even the title says 'SHOULD' men wear pyjamas, as though we need to seek permission or approval from our partners instead of being allowed to be ourselves.

Nah. You miss the point and I've clarified this one a few times.

I'm asking for a personal opinion if members preference is whether or not men wear pjs to bed.

I'm not doing a poll asking members to go tell there partners what to wear to bed.

And again I reiterate the fact that my partner has absolutely no idea that I can't stand his fugly pjs. I only asked here since it's anonymous.

Yes I read the opening post, yet the wording of the title of the thread does suggest that you at least have a conception of this idea of proper behaviour and expression for men, which is what I am talking about, and which I find unfortunate.

Crazy Hitch is wise enough to know that critical thinking is not needed on this subject....It is a lighthearted poll, not thesis work.

If it didn't make me smile, then I would see no reason to continue to read, so you might think about doing the same.

Depends how hairy the fella is. If magnificently hirsute like me then of course not - it would be unfair to Mrs Constant Sorrow.

If your partner thinks you shouldn't, that's just their opinion. No one said you need to seek approval, you don't need to seek approval for anything. There's no reason for it to say "DO YOU THINK they should," when everything someone says is what they think anyway.

My husband prefers to just wear boxers. I bought him pajama pants for Christmas and he never wore them except when it was really cold and our apartment's heating went out for a few hours.

I don't see why not to wear pajamas, but it seems like most men may prefer not to.

Do you prefer him in PJ or boxers? Is he only wearing boxers and nothing else?

It doesn't have to be thesis work to contain harmful implications.

Not reading it isn't the answer to anything. I'm commenting on the wording and implicit expectation of men which I see evidenced in the title and other posts. Don't tell me to just not read something if I find it offensive.

PJs as per whatever one chooses. But, one should NEVER wear underwear to bed for health reasons (constriction causes problems, lack of ability for body parts to breathe causes issues, etc)

It's not my place to tell my husband what he wears to bed.
He's a big boy now, he can dress himself - or not - as he sees fit. ;-p
Please, micromanaging what your SO wears?
Not the key to happiness.
17+ years happily married and counting says so.
But that's just my opinion, take it or leave it.

Could just randomly gift him with a different set of pjs?

I'm a mom, so, appropriate attire is necessary around the home, aka, for roaming to the bathroom or kitchen.
