When I was afraid of leaving my house, someone told me to come and live with them for a few weeks because it should cheer me up. I know they meant well, but the lack of understanding can sometimes be staggering and hard to deal with.

The worst advice was from my mother. Saying that i'm actually happy, I just don't know it, and that if I just have to force myself. As if it was that easy.
