I've been keeping my cats inside most of the time, and they have adjusted and seem to like it. At night, if they want to go out for a while, I let them do so. The gray Maine Coon cat is missing now. He's always at the door wanting in, and hasn't been here since last night. I called the animal shelter and humane society, but no luck so far. He is skittish and would run from anyone who tried to catch him. I just hope he isn't hurt, poisoned, or stolen. It has been very hot here again today, and I know he would have come inside. So upsetting! He's such a beautiful boy!

Patty,

I'm so sorry he has gone missing.

Is there a food he likes that you could put out? Maybe some tuna or something like that? That worked for one of my cats that got out one time.

Is he fixed? If not maybe he smelled a female close by.

I'm sending lots of good vibes for his safe return. Normally they always come home when they get hungry. Hopefully he will be back soon.

Thank you so much!
He never strays very far, unlike the yellow coonie, who is very curious and friendly. I fear that someone may have set out poison. My next door neighbor ...80 year old who hates all cats ... is very mean about the cats in the neighborhood, and there are many cats around, not just mine. He surely would have been inside today if he were okay!

Gemstone...He is neutered, and never goes very far away.
I can't begin to explain how beautiful this cat is...big plume of a tail that looks like ostrich feathers. If someone managed to catch him and steal him, I just hope they treat him well!

I'm so glad Patty!

Give him a big hug, and don't be too angry with him. Gray coon cat missing...

Mybest...I think your prayer was the miracle for the return!
Thank you so much. And Gemstone...I feel kind of silly for having posted about it so worried, but I feel someone must have had him contained, thinking they would keep him, or something. He's just too skittish and doesn't stray out of sight of my house usually,.
Thanks both of you!
Love

good news

I know what it's like when mine went missing for 2 weeks, then finally he came home
I remember searching all over, walking along the railroad tracks, going to animal shelters

One went missing last year and I walked all around the neighbourhood. It helps to tell people when a cat is missing, that's he got home - he went to a neighbour's house looking for food, and she knew that I had been looking, so she brought him home.

Put a collar or something on your cat for identification.
