Sylvester Stallone is my favorite action star and I've not seen all his movies yet. Now I own them on DVD though, and I love the 'Rocky' and 'Rambo' series, but anyway...
2 years ago, I saw this page on a site about him where there was a screenshot of a rare theater related page, and it listed a few films he was in early into his career when he was still unknown as an actor. Some were not even on his IMDb page, so I knew he had to have been just an extra, and found copies of them on DVD to try to spot him. One is about a skiing star in Geneva, played by Robert Redford. So anyway, I bought the film and noticed he was actually an extra in a scene where Robert Redford was in a restaurant. It could be that he's so young, but some other people don't seem to think it's him when it is him. Being that Stallone was only an extra, he had no screen credit. Yet I submitted it on IMDb per their rules for inclusion, and they added it before. Basically, I did this for the other movies as well. I also recently found out that he told Elliott Gould he was an extra in MASH (the movie, not the episodes). And then I happened to spot him, or at least I believe who I seen was him. IMDb added these credits. They put on Downhill Racer on his filmography back in 2015, but I had these scenes on my YouTube channel for people to see, thinking I was doing a good turn. Then like I said, skeptical "fanboys" who must be idiots or purists claimed it wasn't even him. Yeah. How dumb is that? Well, they say snitches get stitches, and I proceeded to delete the videos. Fair enough - people don't have to agree with me that I believe it's him in these scenes, but I think they acted like my videos were productive then grassed me up on the site. So after initially adding the credits, they recently chose to remove them, claiming I needed more proof because it would otherwise be classed as unconfirmed, AKA fanboy BS. People who were aware of these videos have begged for me to put them back up, but I won't. Why enjoy my videos then choose to be an absolute twat about things? Just because he's a legendary film star, these petty fanboys all cried that it cannot be him and had the credits removed after I went through the bother to submit them. But seriously: Why all the fuss about an actor known the whole world over just because I personally found him in these movies before anybody else did, apparently? That's just such a silly and childish fanboy like attitude to me, because if it was anyone else playing an extra, not one person would care. So I made a topic on IMDb about it. See what they had to say. Bunch of tossers. They allow credits to remain where you cannot even see his face, though, which violates their own precious policy. And they pointed out their rules about the actors you submit having to be clearly recognizable. Blah. Blah. Blah. I'll not be doing anything for that crappy website anymore. https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/top...hy-being-petty |

I am glad you are doing nothing for the fan site any more. Stick to where you are appreciated.

It's definitely him in that movie called Downhill Racer. People are obviously looking into it too much that it cannot be him because of how he appears. Keep in mind, he was born in 1946 and this film was released in 1969. He didn't play Rocky Balboa and John Rambo for many years to come.
I mean, the reason he is not looking like a freak of nature in this screenshot I took is because he was just an ordinary guy back then, who was sent to Switzerland by his own mother, and got parts in stage shows and movies. Yeah, I read parts of an unofficial biography about his life (it never mentions this film). He didn't build all them muscles he is famous for until later on in his life, when his movie roles were more physical. It's just silly to me how they added the credits before, but then some silly people came along, whined about whether it could be him like a bunch of fanboys, and got the credits removed. I'm not really bothered anyway. It's so sad and typical of fanboys, so I half expected this would happen. My sister thinks they're just jealous that I did that. This is why I tend not to want to help people online much now. Because when you do things for others, there's always one bad apple that messes things up for everyone. ![]() ![]() |

These days, I find it's just so easy for folks to hide behind the relative anonymity of the computer screen, and spend all their time taking gratuitous "shots" at others.
Maybe, because you spotted these things, and they never had, it makes them feel inadequate and threatened, somehow? In any event, try not to take it too much to heart. An awful lot of people take their aggressions out online, these days. Many aren't as informed as they would like the world to think they are, also...and that is precisely the kind of person who reacts badly to being informed or corrected. Understand that they have their reasons for being Stallone fans, and you have yours! And, give them a wide berth...and do not look down on them, or at least, try not to. There are many things we all need help with. |

I really don't see him. Stallone has a very distinct face around his eyes due to a facial palsy caused by an accident at birth. I don't see anyone in the photo that exhibits this. Sorry.

I thought it was the guy alone at the table at the left, with the big gold ring on his left hand, dark hair with sideburns?

Yes. That is Sylvester Stallone. Unfortunately, a page ripped out of a leaflet ain't proof...

Well, I normally don't double post in threads, but I wanted to share more info about IMDb.com and their strange terms.
David Boreanaz (who is widely known for playing the vampire, Angel) was an extra in two little known 90's films, way before he was famous. Now in one such film, which is also about skiing, you cannot find him because there's a large crowd. My only clue was that he was the tenth guy in the back row waving, or whatever this page said. To date, I've never found him, but at least I know he's just a guy in the audience watching the action. But IMDb again violated their own rules. They had listed him for a number of years as simply "Extra" and they aren't supposed to allow that, as the person who is an extra still needs to have a proper character name, no matter how big or small the "role" is (unless they are credited as an extra, because it can sometimes occur). So I put "Spectator" and that was okay. I found an archived page on Google, from a book or something. It was saying David got his start in Hollywood from the use of his right hand. Never had I been able to be something of a modern day Sherlock Holmes with actors this way, but I guess vague clues helped me pinpoint Sylvester Stallone, so why not David as well? There was also an MSN conversation I found on a fan site where David was doing a Q&A with a fan, or multiple fans at once. A girl asked him if he was easy to spot in Best of the Best II, and he admitted he had huge hair. He did not reveal where he could be seen, though. So where was he? Um, you can see him in a few scenes, just as a parking valet. You can see him near the start of the film very briefly and then just another one time half an hour later. The valets that stop people in their cars often use those glowing things, so you can glimpse him for a second. Later, two of the main characters go to a seedy club when they find out their mate (a fellow martial arts expert) is pulled out of a river after being beaten to death. Basically, the club plays disco music for its patrons as a front, but they also have a deadly martial arts organization held there too. Their friend died in a fight with this brute, and one of the guys has a kid who happened to see the man's death, but got away from the guards. Anyway, David was near the front door when Eric Roberts and this other guy walked down the street and into the Las Vegas club. He gets handed a bit of paper (a ticket?) and glances at the guys heading into the club, while speaking to another guy...all the while displaying his huge hair! That year, he also had a guest spot on Married with Children. Holy crap; I should be getting paid to find famous people in films as hidden extras. Ha-ha. |

I'm not a fan of bumping old threads. But come see this, guys. Troll central!
Obviously, I get this type of abuse done to me all the time across many forums. I "thanked" Stallone in my movie, since he inspired me to act. Same crap follows: I get one guy moaning that I shouldn't be doing that. They also like messed up his filmography. They deleted stuff claiming it wasn't verifiable. Lots of stuff that had been there for years too, that I never added, but pointed out to them. Edit: I revised this post, because I remember being told links aren't allowed. Take my word for it, though. Those forums are populated by stupid users. |

Stallone's facial paralysis I read was caused because he was a forceps baby. Plus IMDB.com completely eliminated their message boards. I suspect because of trolls. Not referring to you Peter. I too think you ought to stay with where your sleuthing is appreciated.

No disrespect to Stallone, but I think he needs to put his action genre days to bed now. He's so old. He'll be 72 next year, and while I'm sure he's still very physically fit, it's just insane for an old age pensioner to still be doing what he does on-screen. The same applies to the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger and all the other mega stars I grew up watching. As you get older naturally, you should consider playing roles more suited to that age group. You know? Otherwise, it just feels silly and vastly far-fetched when you think that a 71-year-old one man wrecking crew can pull off all these great feats.
I get that Rocky is a beloved film, and I always did say that because he loves the sport of boxing, the Rocky Balboa character could still be in spin off films as a manager or commentator. This was something I envisioned back in the 90's after we had the dreadful Rocky V, which was hardly the conclusion fans wanted, but then we got Rocky Balboa in 2006 which was also stupid, but sort of the conclusion we needed. Although half the time I felt the cast were acting so hammy (or wooden). No longer did it have that classy tone like the first three films. Rocky IV is so cheesy. Plus, the sixth film was like a dull retread of the first two films, without the equal amount of charm. Like Rocky V, it has its moments, I guess. The ending in the fifth film with his real life, late son (Sage) at the stairs in front of the museum and statue is one of the series' best moments, but the rest of the film wasn't that hot. I wasn't really keen on Rambo either, to be honest. As a kid, you'd bet your bottom dollar I'd want to see more sequels. An endless amount of sequels. But as I got older, I just didn't care much for Hollywood milking all these franchises I treasured during my youth. I'm referring to the fourth film, not the character. John Rambo, unlike Rocky Balboa, is pretty much done. Rambo has an odd title as well, because the first film is simply known as First Blood, while the other two sequels from the 80's are numbered. In general, the fourth (and final film) didn't feel like it was in the same league as the original trilogy. It didn't have that 80's type attitude to it any longer, so the backbone just wasn't there anymore. It was just a crazy and violent film, with tons of gore that was very over the top. Also, all the other movies had Richard Crenna as his commanding officer, Sam Trautman, but he sadly passed away years before Stallone made this fourth movie. It's just not that impressive. By the way, there's this garbage "thriller" set in New York City, called No Place to Hide. The exact year of release is debated, but it was around 1973 it originally came out, and then they shot new footage for a revised version, called Rebel. Well, Stallone looks so handsome in it, which is about the only highlight. But the hacks who released it used a screenshot of Rambo on a motorcycle for the front cover of the video box, to make people think it would be a great film. It's not. It's basically about a bunch of students wanting to blow up buildings as part of a political movement. I'm not even sure if Stallone was supposed to be the rightful star. It's likely the proper film was re-released, and then edited to pieces with Stallone somehow ending up as the focal point of the plot. |

Yeah, a movie like Space Cowboys, but for Stallone, Arnold, Van Damme, etc.? Maybe they can take on Putin and the Russian ambassadors!
I loved Richard Crenna. Lately Ive been seeing him on Our Miss Brooks, where he speaks in a high squeaky voice, i guess as if his voice is still changing? He always looks the same, from birth to death practically. |

Yeah. He was a great actor. I'm sure he was in a lot of those made for TV (Hallmark) movies, like courtroom dramas and stuff like that. But I think they need to put ripping off 80's films to rest now, and come up with fresh ideas, if they can. They've even recently announced that an Indian actor will play Rambo in a Bollywood reboot, and even Stallone just sarcastically brushed off the idea that a new film without him may not be good. It was his role, after all.
I mean, I know the 80's was an incredible era for action films, but that was 30 something years ago. Now all they seem to do in Hollywood is milk everything from that decade. It's either sequels, prequels, reboots, or remakes. As much as I like Indiana Jones for example, Harrison Ford is way too old now and it's getting to be quite silly for all these 'blast from the past' type actors. All the hype for these films lies in their names, so old or not, they do have their fans that will want another one, no matter what. It's like if they say a new Star Wars flick is coming out next year, they fall for it each time. That's why these "enablers" allow these hacks to carry on tarnishing everything, because what sequel ever outshines the original? Anyway, they also recently announced the return of Ivan Drago for the sequel to Creed, which makes a lot of sense, since Adonis is the son of Apollo Creed and his father (whom he never met) was killed by Drago in Rocky IV. I'm not sure if you've seen it, but Ivan Drago is basically this huge Russian guy who took steroids and clobbered Apollo Creed to death in Las Vegas, during a so-called exhibition bout. This prompted Rocky, his friend, to fly over to the Soviet Union for a revenge match, and you got the cheesy montage style clips with the 80's sounding rock songs. Although Rocky won the match, the brain damage he suffered forced him to retire, at least until they came up with the stupid plot tweaking stuff in Rocky Balboa. I'm going to watch Shaft later. The original one. I know the 2000 film is actually a sequel, because Richard Roundtree is playing the uncle of Samuel L. Jackson's character. And there's going to be another one soon with Jackson's son. Man, this is so getting out of hand here, Hollywood. |

Oh yeah Dolph Lundgren! They made that movie during "my day". As much as i love Richard Crenna, i reeeeeeally like Dolph. I understand hes a fairly smart guy. Unless im mixing him up with somebody else.
Chelsea Brown recently died. She was one of the go-go dancers, like Goldie Hawn, on the early Laugh-In. She was about my age. I was sooooo jealous of them! |

Seems like this stuff is upsetting you so why keep on with it?
If he or she gets credits or not cant be that big of a deal to take time out of your life to be this concerned... or not? Its the internet ...

Yeah, of course it's the Internet, and of course it doesn't matter because it's 'just a site' for documenting films. However, I was 'just trying to help' out his billions of fans. So I could have said to these people on YouTube who liked the videos, "no way, screw you, because I'm not telling anyone anything," and because I did so to help out his page, I was nice about it, but like my mother said, "there's always one!" and now I wish I hadn't bothered, because I know trolls are located everywhere online.
