so.. as things will have it.... the little harmless garden snake escaped... yepper he did... soooooooooooooooooooooooo MOM says.. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... and son says.. "chill"... and MOM says... I am sleeping in the car tonight.. until you find it.. that is my new home.. sooo I started looking too.. the sooner we find "it".. the better.. welllllllllllllllll went into my son's room... and yepper a tad bit annoyed.. and I slamed the door... and moved into the room at the same time... a small room.. that took me right next to the window.. and the snake was housed on the bureau next to the window.. soooooooooooooo yepper you guessed it... when I slammed the door... the snake that had been residing on the curtain rod.. fell... yepper... right... on you know who... I still laugh about it.. no more slamming doors... |

![]() ![]() ![]() I had three boys. Each of them had/has a fascination with snakes to this day! I had to get over my fear when my oldest got a baby gopher snake when he was eight yrs old. He thought he was brave until the snake got out one day. Like you, I wasn't going to have a snake loose in the house so we set out to find him. He was looking in his room when I started down the hallway. Who should I meet but the new snake. I called for my son, he came, tried to pick him up and quickly got bitten. Guess who had to pick up the snake them? You got it! The difference was, I picked him up by his head, where my son had tried to pick him up by the tail! ![]() ![]() Can't remember what the snake's name had been before that but it changed to "Spike" that day. ![]() I became an expert at catching snakes from that day on. ![]() My youngest still brings me his new acquisitions to hold and like a good mother, I take the snake from him and let it twist around my forearm. His kids were amazed that I didn't freak the first time he did that. In turn, I was amazed when my oldest took a Hog Nose snake from his little brother and got all excited about it. He's such a computer geek these days that I had forgotten who had introduced me to snakes. ![]() ![]()

<font color="purple"> Haha!
That reminds me of the time I was walking with my mom, It was on this bike path, and all of a sudden she kind of gasped ans tumbled back and I caught her thinking she took a bad step... But as it turns out, about a foot ahead from us was a little snake curled up on the path. In retrospect I should have taken it off the path so it wouldn't be potentialy run over by some guy working out on his bycycle litsening to his ipod at full blast. I like snakes, but my mom is terrified/grossed out by them so bad! I keep on telling about how snakes are beautiful, and how they hunt vermon that would otherwise over populate and spreak disease...but that doesn't change the fact that my mom thinks that snakes are pure evil. I told her that I wanted a pet snake and she just kinda said "NO" in a feaked out voice like I was presenting one to her in my hands or something. I told her about this pretty albino snake that I saw in the pet shop that was small, but she thought that it souunded really creepy. ![]() |
