I'm irked, but heartbroken, because actor Luke Perry just passed away.

I’ve been irked all day because my coworker got very angry and then started becoming passive aggressive and rude towards me today when I wouldn’t cover a shift for her. How in the world is that my fault?

Me too, and I'm downright spooked because he was younger than I am.

Why can't people read anymore? I send out all kinds of written material and very often someone has missed a crucial part.

It really irks me when people do not understand something and make asumptions that are not true

Friends of friends on Facebook who have their settings on public and then are obviously passive aggressive in a post that for some reason showed up on my newsfeed. She got blocked fast.

The thing that is weird is I knew this person 11 years ago.

I’m not trying to sound like a crabby old lady but, do kids not have school on Fridays anymore? The last couple weeks I’ve gone to the mall on Friday mornings and the mall has been jam packed with kids and teenagers. These days it seems like everyone has flexible schedules. Kids and adults. I miss the days when I could get my shopping done on weekday mornings without crippling anxiety. All these crowds started in October 2017.

Gosh do I ever agree with this one. When I was little we had just two teacher convention days off a year. You went to school too even if you were sick (the idea being better to go through everyone at the same time). Most kids got gold stars or some recognition for not missing a single day of school for the year.

Today however there are many teacher convention days and afternoons off for staff meetings. When I drove a school bus, the elementary students had Wednesdays off for staff meetings and every second full Friday off for teacher professional days or conventions.

There are other things happening too nowadays....

There is an alarmingly higher rate of homeschooling happening these days (something I am entirely in disagreement with - enter my own rant).

There are parents who hover around their children in that a single sniff or cough leads the parents to keep the kids at home (why then they feel the child is perfectly healthy enough to take out deceives me - enter second rant).

Finally, there are those parents afraid to be parents; afraid to be stern with their children and say 'no' (extreme rant in the works here). I know mother's myself who keep their child at home if the kids says they don't want to go to school. I know one gal too who keeps her precious child home when she can't be bothered to walk him to school - something she insists on doing despite the kid being 13 years of age and the school insight of the home.
Thanks for this!

Walmart was a madhouse at 9:30 this morning. I could barley get through the aisles. My anxiety was sky high. I didn’t even know so many people were up that early on Saturdays. I can’t imagine what it was like this afternoon. I am irked that my anxiety has gotten so bad in public.

Yikes, I feel you !

Maddening, is it not? Do you find that you've/We've become more madhouse-and crowd-averse over the years? Bc I definitely have -- and I never dealt all that well with chaos to begin with, lol.

In our little mountain town (which is nevertheless the "goods-n-services" hub for a bunch of scattered little bitsy places in the area) it's gotten so unpredictable! One thinks "OK, it's 1400 on a Tuesday afternoon; there should be no one about at the W-Mart so good time to go pick up Rxes..." Wrong! The lot is chock-a-block; and the line at the Pharmacy wraps around 2 aisles and is trailing toward the (closed) Plants/Gardening/Patio Center. ~sigh~

I feel for the (very) seniors who are mobility-challenged, some obv quite feeble or ill, and just trying to get the hell outta there, and are having to cope with scrums of teens, harried young moms n dads w/squalling toddlers, and all the rest of it. MADNESS!

We've more than once entered, looked around, and NOPED outta there. IDK where on earth they all come from...! Arrgh

I get it that teachers have In-Service days, and all the rest of it. The schools are just beyond the bottom of our hill, and more than once there've been Loud Athletic Endeavours (extremely audible loudspeakers or the bands or w/e) going on in the middle of the dang day -- and evidently all not involved in said endeavours are released bc they're swarming all over the rest of town in gangs and gaggles.

Yes I AM a cranky lady... sometimes.

lol

Best,

Chyia, right there with you

I noticed a difference right around October 2017. I thought it was just very early Christmas shopping. Then in January 2018 when the schools were back in session the crowds still didn’t lighten up. It’s been this way ever since. I think I read somewhere that 9-5 Monday-Friday jobs are now considered old fashioned or something like that.

last week it was my friend's birthday, and the people who she knows made a real effert to give her everything she wanted.

a new phone, a new bed cover, a night out bowling and to mcdonalds, a trip to see her sister, a cake, and she still turns around and says... well it isn't good enough

some people are never satisfied..

I’ve noticed that my shirt will sometimes smell like a restaurant after eating there. It’s usually a steak and French fries smell though.

Today my coworker made a rude remark about my breast size and then got annoyed when I wasn’t all that friendly towards her a few minutes later.

Um, you can’t have it both ways hon.

I've been ill over my holiday, spending 3 days in a hospital getting rid of infection. Except what irks me considerably is the pneumonia jab that is supposed to immunise people, only guards against one particular bug that can trigger pneumonia. I didn't know that that particular bug is, and worse, my GP never informed me there are several bugs that also can trigger pneumonia.

I am not impressed with that. I don't think many of you reading this would be either. Honestly I didn't know about the pneumonia jab though it was 8 years ago I had it, and was recently informed that I'd not need it again. IMO, that is complete bosh.

My chest infection was dealt with a heavy dose of vancomycin by iv, on a drop over some 4 hours. In addition, 2 grams of flucloxacillin also by IV every 6 hours. I had a brush with pneumonia, now thankfully gone, also a brush with Sepsis, also gone and now am finishing an oral dose of flucloxacillin just to be on the safe side.

It annoys me when you go into the doctor or wherever and you say you feel sick to your stomach after eating a particular food and all the doctor says is “well, stop eating that food then.” It’s like, no. I want to know if I am actually allergic to it or if it’s something completely different. What if it’s a specific ingredient in that food and not the food itself? I want an actual blood test done. I want answers. I wonder if I can see an allergist on Medicare or if I need a referral first.

That feeling of dread when the washing machine is rhythmically banging because its unbalanced. Then you go and spread out your heavy jeans and cant get it to stop so you lean on it.

I have been annoyed by this all winter. I am out multiple times a day walking a dog. It is bad enough that most people these days are just too dang lazy to shovel their walks but I have an even greater issue with cars parked on the sidewalks. People seem to have no clue for the fact that there exists a sidewalk between the street and the fronts of properties sitting beneath the snow. It is bad enough that I, an adult, must walk out into the street to pass them but it is particularly upsetting to see the children have to as they head to and from school. My street is busy as it is a connector to a main through-fare. Children must walk directly in the path of heavy trucks, buses, and Yahoo's speeding up and down the blocks.

It irks me that no matter if one has a Ph.D, there are virtually no jobs available.

I feel I must protest here. I have no wish to be offensive. I wince too at such ads but they serve a valuable purpose. We can't sweep such diseases under the rug. They must be openly talked about - just as mental health ought to be - so as to make talking about these things as open and comfortable as possible. Talking about pancreatic cancer saves lives. If even one life is saved as a result of such an ad then good has been done.

Alex Trebek waited until he got sick and discovered his pancreatic cancer had reached stage 4. He probably won't survive. For whatever reason, he apparently did not talk about this with his doctor nor gotten himself checked.

Instead of recoiling from such an ad, have a discussion with the loved ones important to you about regular checks.
Thanks for this!

A family member of mine never got regular mammograms. I don’t think she had one at all in the past 7 years or something. Right after Christmas she was diagnosed with breast cancer in both breast's. It looks pretty bad for her. I feel awful for her and her kids and my uncle.
