Hello, I'm in shock right now from a website that I really loved to talk to other people on and been on it for 12 years and they just banned me for life because I talked to much. It's called City-Data Forums. I had 23 million viewer's.

I am not familiar with that site, but we are here for you if you need us. I don't think anyone here has gotten in trouble for posting too much, not as far as I know, anyway.

This is what triggered me last night, the thought of being banned again, ( not this site) but a lot of my fear was because I missed my anti anxiety med...i think. Still, it helped that I vented to someone about this over there who lifted me up and reassured me. But I still haven't heard from another...little anxious, but hoping that they're just too busy.

I think someone did get banned on PC 6 months ago or so for posting too much. But they were posting a lot. Like 200 posts or more a day. Idk. They were really really nice and helpful to everyone on the forum and I can’t see why else they would have had their account suspended.

I feel for you, Billybob. I am a frequent poster, as well, and am fully aware many of my posts are three + times longer than others'. I can be verbose, but it is more often my compulsion to write, share, or express creativity. As online forums can be many peoples' main source of social interactions, I imagine being cut off would hurt.
I can also be gabby and easily go off on tangents. Some is personality, some bipolar disorder. Some members occasionally skip or only skim my posts. I'm OK with that. Non mental illness-related forum members have occasionally reacted to my posts negatively. Even been called things like "over the top", "off balance", etc. It's a well-known fact that some avid writers/musicians practically die when ordered to chop out big amounts of their writing/music. It is often necessary, though. The topics of "the urge to write a lot", and the exact opposite, could be discussed in multiple doctoral theses. I'll stop here. Hi. I haven't read the previous posts on your thread Billybob59, but is it possible that they didn't ban you for talking too much, but banned you for talking about certain things or in a certain way? [offensive things] Because that happens a lot.

I am very sorry this has happened to you Billybob. Online posting has become something of a tough business in these past few years. It can be hard to know whats going on sometimes. Others might notice your absence and ask questions so don't think you will be forgotten quickly.

Sorry to hear that Billy Bob. Psych Central's mods are reasonable people. They usually will email warnings with reminders of the community guidelines before they will ban a member here.

@BirdDancer haha I love you!
I was actually too afraid to admit it yesterday, but my problem was a lot to do with being "too much". Too many PMs and too many "blocks of text". While to some extent, I did write a lot of PM s, and long ones at times, I didn't think I was THAT bad and one of the members I was writing to said on a number of occasions that I was doing fine on the forums. I did get a couple of warnings, but most of it seemed unfair and others were more obnoxious in my opinion or they were actually being rude to me. The staff didn't see it that way though for the most part, with one exception (which gave me hope), but yeah, I was utterly destroyed by this ban because I thought I could trust these people. :/ And it was a "safe space". Safe space my ***! Only if you agreed with them on everything! (Sorry, I shouldn't badmouth) |

In any case, their action without giving you any real warning or explanation seems mean and unreasonable to me. I'm sorry it happened to you. I'd be very upset if that were done to me. __________________ |

Good news, I've been contacted by the city data main Mod that they banned me by accident. It was a mix-up they said. They want me to come back. I have posted 26,000 posts in 12 years.
Thank you all on here for the many Hugs and caring. |

I'm sorry that you had to experience that. You didn't deserve that. I end up being banned from Kati Morton website when those who had troll me made false allegations against that in their chat before I was banned from the forums.

I’m surprised anyone would be banned for having too many posts. So long as it’s positive I don’t see what the problem would be.
