I love freecycle. The table is gorgeous! My kids were so mad at me several years ago. I set up a yard sale in the spring and posted in bold red letters "FREE" above the yard sale sign. They pitched such a fit, I let them set up a "Donations accepted" dish next to their items.

I'm all about giving it away. I want it to leave my hand and go directly into the hand of someone who will use the item. I have tried to speak to shelters in the area to possibly drop off new and gently used clothing. However, they must receive their items from a charitable organization, not from an individual.

Rant is done!

Gorgeous table! I belong to my county's Freecycle (I forget why I joined originally a couple years ago) but they have all sorts of political and people problems so I haven't done anything with them.

we don't think we have freecycle here, but it sounds like a great idea, we look into it, maybe start it up here

we try to give the stuff directly to ppl who need it, rather than doing it through the charities, coz the charities charge ppl money.

very nice table Kathy, real wood too

Ok I LOVE freecycle! Someone pm'd me the address and I signed up last night. This morning I offered books and instantly got 4 replies. I gave them to the first girl, met her at her crossstreets. She was about 20.

THEN, someone offered a king sized pillow top seely bed. But I had no way to get it.

This thing ROCKS!!!

I set up a separate email just for freecycle!

Sign up Spazzy! Its the coolest thing ever!! I set up a separate gmail account for it and I have it set to email whenever someone posts. Today after work I'm picking up boxes and a storage container that I found on freecycle!

I just picked up boxes from someone on freecycle. She left them outside her apartment and I scooped them up! I got one the other day too from a woman at her house, a great big suitcase style box!
