If you get no results from management I would probably raise it to a community safety agency. Problem with water damage in ceilings & walls is that they can collapse & cause major injury to those occupying the apartments. Then it would cost the owner law suits against them for negligence. Always put your requests in writing & keep a copy.

I was first married & in our first apartment. Found out my oven thermostat didn't regulate the temp of the oven....it got to 650 when I was checking it after I burned dinner in less than 15 minutes. Manager said the owner was busy & would get around to fixing it in the next few weeks. I calmly told him I would be reporting the issue to the fire department the next day. The owner was out first thing the next morning & replaced the oven thermostat. I have found in most cases with many things I have to raise tge threat to way beyond me to get any action. I hope you don't have to do this & get necessary results. Most water leaks like this are related to roofing issues when it is weather related. Firm yet nice usually lets them know they can't ignore your requests because the alternative is usually not a choice they willingly want to deal with

I m in a HUD apartment. So I was thinking my next step would be to call HUD.

I am not the only apartment w leaks so I actually am more concerned about the apartments above me leaking into mine, etc.

This is not a roofing issue. It's coming through the baseboards on the outside wall.

Sounds like the storm strengthened. They are flinging names like cyclone bomb, winter hurricane and not Easter around. Traveling up the eastern coast.

Yea, I had mushrooms growing out of the baseboards of my room over the garage turned out it was a roofing issue around my dormer window in the room & the water ran down the outside wall & came out at the baseboard. Repair people say you can never actually tell where water originates from until the walls are torn apart & the originating spot is located

Now we have "wnter storms" that are dangerous. Case in point:

Some schools closing as forecasters warn about possible tornadoes, hurricane-force winds

Liz, keep safe.
Thanks for this!

Posted on another thread we are having nasty high winds today I got smacked in the face by the front door this morning. Wind caught it and BOOM.

Schools are closing early today because of the wind. They need to get busses off the road before the wind gets worse.

November, December, January. It looks like we are getting a bad storm once a month so far.

Maintenance took pictures of my apartment last storm n management said they have to hire an outside contractor however that hasn't happened yet. I added more duct tape yesterday so hopefully tonight's storm won't flood my apartment this time.

Too much going on in my life and with my health to try to push the issue of getting things fixed yet.

I guess the hurricane thread is appropriate for today's storm. I heard this afternoon we were having tropical storm force winds. Got kinda scary for awhile.

We get worse storms in the winter. Winds are horrible even with no snow. Last year one storm took down 10+ trees in my woods & it wasn't a tornado. Electric company took down an old dead oak that would have taken out my neighbors power if it had blown down. We are end of the line so probably wouldn't have effected anyone but us. Love my power company. They do take care of us & save themselves work in storms too.

Oh, I relate to the wind & door thing & fighting to keep Cote in the house while I am trying to leave the house. Storm door slammed open into a planter & house door flew open when I tried to close the storm door. I had a few choice words that flew out in the process. I hate storms with wind

I saw this thread about hurricanes and thought about the bad weather in Florida, liz. We're having rain and winds up to 50 mph and rain where I am now. A bunch of places closed early.
Thanks for this!

Most of the state was under tornado watch/warning yesterday. Weather is okay today. Normal breeze, no rain (yet)
