Ok. I sound paranoid. But everytime I go there and he is working I get sick. My mom picked up a drink for me today and my stomach started cramping up and I asked if that guy was there today and she said yeah.

He is always laughing and in a good mood but one time he made a poisioning joke. My mom doesn't believe me. But like my stomach started hurting today before I knew he was even working.

Literally no one believes me though.

Do you get the same or similar drink each time? If it has something with green tea/ matcha in it, he could just be incompetent. Those drinks (probably others too, but it’s easier to mess up stuff based off green tea) tend to need to be made at a specific temperature (lower than other teas or coffee) or they cause nausea for many people.

He might be mixing drinks incorrectly and mixing wrong ingredients. He most certainly isn’t poisoning you. I’d start going to a different Starbucks though if you suspect they don’t make their drinks right

Yeah I’d try a different shop, not sure if he’s done anything but what have you got to lose?

I wouldn’t say “most certainly” isn’t poisoning people, it’s possible, just incredibly unlikely. It’s definitely not targeted at you, MD, even if that were the case, if your mom was the one that picked it up and you still got sick.

Have you been going there long enough to know if he’s new or not? Idk Starbucks’ layout, but at Dunks it’s not foolproof to use lower temp water for green tea (sticking to that example because that’s the one that gets me sick so badly I only drink green tea/matcha stuff if I make it myself and have an accurate temp check).

You can go to a different coffee shop, or if that’s too out of your way you can tell someone there (probably manager or assistant manager) that you suspect someone there isn’t making drinks right. He’s probably messing up others drinks too and needs a little correction (or to be straight up fired if he can’t/refuses to).

He probably just sucks but not bad enough to get fired/actually shows up for his shifts. If he was legitimately poisoning people, he wouldn’t have been able to last that long (unless the manager also hates Starbucks and its customers, but then they wouldn’t be there too long either).

I think the exact phrasing uses “stupidity” instead of ignorance, but I think for the purposes of the mentality ignorance is a better word.

Well, I believe he could've made a poisoning joke, but at the same time, it could've been a case of mishearing something and still isn't proof or even a strong case for foul play. Just notch it up to paranoia MD, he's probably a nice person (idk) and your health is always up and down, too. Hang in there, please. 🙏

Yeah I'm probably still being paranoid but I've had 2 drinks from that Starbucks and he wasn't working and I was perfectly fine.
