I used to not care for the name Jennifer, it was way over used I thought. Now, I know where that name is derived from and I don't groan everytime I hear it. Jennifer is the modern for Gwenevere.

I always wondered how that happened! A regular person then you have a child and suddenly you are mom or dad. As a non married non parent I have often wondered if a person had a problem with thier parent who was the same gender of thier spouse, would they give them that parental title?

Someone named Jennifer is one of my very favorite people here Random thought about the name Jennifer ( Random thought about the name Jennifer MentalPollution), but it definitely was the "in" girls name in the early 1980s, so there are a lot of them roaming around now. I have a niece born in 1981 named Jenna, which is close, but still a bit more unusual. Random thought about the name Jennifer

I have to say, though, as a little kid I always wished I had a more "common" name. Kids go through that "monogram" stage in about 4th grade where they want pencils and notebooks and this and that with their name on them, and when I was growing up I was approximately the only "Candace" in the free world. LOL I didn't meet another one till I got to high school, and she spelled it differently! Now they're everywhere, it seems.
