Maybe it's just me because I have so many psychological problems. Anyway, I was walking across a cross walk after I got out of the movie theater from seeing Mamma Mia again. Well, right in the middle of the street, my shoe slipped and I almost fell on my butt. Of course, there were a ton of people around and cars waiting at the traffic light. I am just glad that nobody had to make a turn as I was practically falling on my butt. I can guarantee that everyone was laughing at me too and probably told everyone they know.

Of course I tell this to my family, and they think I'm nuts for getting embarrassed about it.

I don't know about other people.. but when I witness something like this my first thought is "OMG... that person could have broken her leg". It's not a "ha ha" moment.... witnessing someone getting hurt or a near miss doesn't seem funny to me at all.

I think that's what most adults would think. A child might think it's funny, but not people old enough to be driving those cars who were waiting at the traffic light.... no?

Way to go Grace!! How embarrassing is this? Sorry, couldn't resist. How embarrassing is this?

I've had my share of embarrassing falls, not to mention embarrassing fainting spells. It's not fun to be standing one minute, then opening your eyes to find yourself on the ground surrounded by strangers with worried and curious looks on their faces. How embarrassing is this? How embarrassing is this?

I've got to admit, I've seen some falls that were funny - as long as the person is not physically injured. The first thought that comes to mind is "Glad that wasn't me!" How embarrassing is this?

I think most people are compassionate and wouldn't see your fall as funny. If they do, pat yourself on the back for brightening up someone's day. How embarrassing is this?

If I see someone fall I'm immediatly in shock and concerned for their welfare, safety, injuries (even sprains).

IF all is well, I'm relieved.

If I know them. I'm really relieved.

If I'm good friends with them (GOOD FRIENDS) then as soon as I know they are ok ... they get the jokes ...

A stranger? I always hope they are fine because I never know the full outcome of their fall ..nor the reason that they might have fallen (do they have an invisible disease like me? or did they just trip?)

I fall frequently ...and in many situations. My poor former pastor had to finally realize he was going to have to learn to stop having heart attacks with each of my falls ... and since i made jokes of them, so could he. He at least breathed when I fell and stopped panicking and laughed at the other's jokes ...

Normally, I try to laugh off my falls when I'm with friends, which makes everyone feel at ease, and even makes me feel better. But if I fall in public, when I'm by myself, I've hardly ever have someone laugh at me or think it's funny; usually someone will ask if I'm okay. So, rest assured, no one was laughing unless you were too. How embarrassing is this?
