Puppy!

<font color="purple">Well, my (step)sister is coming to visit from Alaska for the next couple of weeks because one of her really good friends died in a motorcycle accident (very sad). Right now she is just staying with her friends but she is going to help us move into our new apartment and after that she will be staying with us for awhile (because her mom is acting like a crazy...jerk) she also brought her puppy with her!

Sadly, she cannot keep the puppy because she just can't afford the little girl because she's in college. It's sad because we know that she's been wanting a dog for so long and a dog like her puppy wich NEEDS alot of excercise would help her with her seasonaly-affective-depression up in Alaska...but she just can't afford him right now (and it doesn't help that one of her friends accidently dropped the puppy and broke her leg) she is only 6 weeks old. All I really know is that it's a girl, 6 weeks old, and an Austrainlian sheperd. ANYWAYS. She doesn't just want to stick the puppy in some shelter- she wants to adopt it out to someone she knows.

Well, after prodding dad a little bit I think I convinced him that because he is convinced that he's alergic to dogs to at least visit with the puppy to see if he's alergic. If he is...well, the puppy will go to someone else who is nice, and if he isn't...then there is a good chance that we are going to adopt the puppy because Dad has really wanted a dog (and well, it would get us off our lazy butts too)

Kaika! The Australian Shepherd is very smart. My favorite aunt and uncle have one. Wondering if you could show us a picture of the puppy!
I know they do shed quite a bit, and have a thick undercoat as well.
I hope you get to keep her!
My aunt's Aussie does lots of tricks with the frisbee, and knows so many words that they have to spell some words they don't want her to hear!

Very special Dogs,, Australian Shepards are...super smart,,very protective,,excellent with children..happy dispositions,,easy to train.

if dad really wants a dog, and is allergic, keeping puppy clean and giving dad an antihistamine just might do the trick. sorry, i have 3 cats who i am allergic to, but would not give them up for the world.

I really hope that your Dad turns out to be not too alergic and that you get to keep the puppy. Dogs are wonderful pets.

<font color="purple"> Hehe, it looks like I'm getting attatched to the puppy before I even meet it!

I know that herding dogs are the most intelligent dogs because they have to litsen very carefuly in order to execute the different maneuvers needed to herd sheep. I think it would be really cool to train her as a service dog of some sort, but I don't even know how to teach a trick!

This is assuming that we even get to keep her...

IF you get to have her(fingers and toes crossed for you) there are TONS of books on training dogs. and you need to start early, like 6-8 weeks on potty, sit stay and come/heal. there is actually a dog training for dummies. i have a copy of it somewhere lol

<font color="purple"> Oh, and I got to see Colleen and her puppy today, she is going to keep him though (she's really attatched to him). He's so cute and pretty. Lots of energy though, he also bites alot *looks at scatched up hand* yeah, I kept on shooing him away but when he gets excited, he just keeps coming back for more. His name is Beggaia (Beg-ai-ya) which means "child" in one of the native languages in Alaska. I'll take some pictures when my camera is done charging, I'm puppsitting for the next day or so anyways. n.n </font>
