New guy here, over 40 pages in this thread, don't have time to read them all today. Does Cherry Grove need a firefighter? I spent 20 years as a volunteer firefighter. Tell me who to report to.

The purple frog is my friend. He sleeps on the dresser in my room. Supposed to be a sock monkey but looks more like a frog. He did not like the boat ride. He got wet. Wet socks stink.

Muffy, your description sold my friend Montague on Cherry, so I've just been doing some orientation and mobility with him. He is my blind friend, so you'll see us around, the blind leading the blind haha! I'm going to try and see if we can figure out some blind pool.

I'm sure he'd enjoy going for a ride in the boat after you get a new sail. I'm sure the wet socks stink, just like the Red Sox teeee heeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Come meet Montague, we're gonna have some coffee at the Silver Sparrow.

As a community I am sure we would all be happy to help him. Learn his way around.
Blind pool? I can blind fold myself and play too.
I would glad to take the two of you for a ride in the sail boat. The sail is all repaired.
Will meet you there at silver sparrow

Montague had a grand time on the boat. I think it would be cool to invent "Blind Schotch Doubles". So, you'd have the blind person, and a sighted person. I could play with you, and you could help me line up shots. Then, the other team would have either a blind player, or a blindfolded player with a sighted player. I think it could work, don't you?

Or we could get with Mark, the goalball coach, and invent billiard balls with bells tee hee.

I am going to have to research the blind pool game. It sounds feasable, wonder if anyone has developed it yet? Thanks for the idea, that will keep me busy researching for a while.

Randj, I've done some searching for blind pool and just found a team in the UK who are sighted, and play to raise money for the blind there. I've got so many ideas for developing a way for the blind to play pool. I used to play when I could see, and I miss it terribly.

I'm thinking censors actually, in the balls and in the cue stick. Maybe even one worn on classes, that kind of idea.

But with the scotch doubles, the sighted person could tell the blind one where to aim and such, and how to leave the ball in a good place.

I think it could be done. Let me know what you find though! Thanks for wanting to look it up!

Raynaadi, I was thinking about the sensors in the balls, each tone different to identify the ball. I was an electronic engineer for 30 years so the technology is there. Can I add you as a friend/contact on here? Maybe we could talk sometime?

Ooh cool cool. Yes you can add me.

Yes, censors and sounds would really do the trick. There would be censors in the cue ball, and on the cue stick tip, to let you know you are close to the cue ball so you don't tap it. It could get really detailed, so that you hear different tones depending on what english/spin you want on the cue ball. You could have glasses with censors, or "eyes" on the lenses that talk to the censors on the balls. Each ball could even speak as the censor on the glasses make contact.

So, 8 ball is hanging in the pocket. The classes would "look" at the table and see where the ball is. There would need to be beepers on the pockests though, like one in the center, and one on each edge. The cue stick would "talk" to the cue ball, beeping faster when closer to the ball. A different pitch would sound depending on upper left english, center, etc.

Is this way too complicated? Would it be incredibly expensive? The table censors could be mobile, so all you'd need to take to the pool room are the censors, special balls, and the cue stick.
