Ok, ya'll, here it is. My agression is not aimed at anyone here. I've gotten a few questions and comments about my "mood."

It's a reminder to me that, when I get tired of fighting this fight with the company that is supposed to be getting me a new wheel chair, I just look at that little face and I get back on the stick. Like so many here, I come here to distract myself and to get support, especially when I'm feeling low or frustrated or without the strength I need to get things done. That angry little face gives me a nudge to keep on fighting.

I've been fighting with this company for two years, first to get my present chair repaired and maintained with absolutely NO response from the company. I've tried being fair, I've tried being reasonable, I've tried being forgiving and I've tried being kind. It got me NOWHERE! I had to take off the gloves and hit them with everything I have. It gets tiring. It makes me feel bad. It makes me do things I don't normally do. The frustration I felt with my non-cooperative chair was more than I could handle, so having to do most of the paperwork and legwork myself was just a bit over the top.

It hasn't been easy filling out five different complaints and following up on them. The INCOMPETENCE is everywhere! I have to keep nudging certain agencies to find out where the complaint process is and see if anything is being done about my complaints!

I'm finally getting some slow, begruding responses from the VP of the company. The stupid broad that is supposed to be doing all of the paperwork has even received administrative discipline and she still refuses to follow through with what her boss, the VP, tells her to do regarding my case. I have no clue what her problem is!

So there you have it. I have to keep reminding myself to stay agressive to get my new power wheel chair. I live in it. I have a life because of it and this company that is supposed to build independence for people like me is doing the oposite.

I don't normally feel agressive, especially here on PC. I love you all. Just bear with me a little bit longer, okay?

Dear Lucy, we all have our days!

Just a thought...

This sounds like a great story to shop around to a TV station! In this economy and this presidential administration putting the halt on ramming it down the people's throat...a reporter would get valuable footage of you in a wheelchair going up against a "taking advantage of the disabled" company...whooooo, that would make for an excellent human interest story! Good local television ratings.

Or you could threaten the company with this and see what happens. But never threaten anything without being prepared to back it up. And always follow through.

If you have time, poke around this consumer website & see if you get any other ideas for possible resolution. www.clarkhoward.com

Yes, and the aggressive stance is a really wearing-down one for me, at least. I hope you get some resolution to this. It's a shame you have had to go thru all this aggravation to get what you need.

Tomi and I (PC's resident journalist, no need for Clark Howard ;-) have been working on this. If you've thought of it, we've thought of it plus one, trust me. It's going slowly, but well -- at least, last I heard! How 'bout an update, "Lucy"?

Thanks for responding, ya'll! It helps to know SOMEONE is listening.

An update... well, yes, I have accomplished some things. Finally, the VP of the company is contacting me without me having to initiate it. Yesterday, he called and said that I should be getting my new chair in about two weeks, however, Medi-Cal said my case was still "under review." Strange, because I had already been approved for a new chair. I'm not discouraged on that point. I'm still sure I'll get my chair.

Dave, the VP, has also informed me that Sabrina, his assitant, the one that holds something against me, whatever it may be, has been given an administrative disciplinary action and a letter put in her file. She still doesn't do as Dave asks her to do regarding my case. Dave still defends her. The men friends I have that know about this are certain there is something going on between Sabrina and Dave that isn't quite kosher. I really don't care. That's their business... except that it makes it harder on me and makes me angrier at Sabrina when I allow myself to think about it. If I was her boss, she would have been fired a long time ago, Valedictorian of her class or not!

The agency that has helped me the most is the Senior Legal Hotline. The BBB has contacted the company about my complaint and they're still waiting to hear from the company. I've been tempted to call them off, but I haven't given into temptation. I may add the slowness of response to my complaint.

I've been in contact with the senior editor of the local newspaper. He says he's interested in my story but right now they are swamped with housing and economy news. Candy, I'll be asking you to help me with a letter to the editor for submission, ok?

TV stations are out because they all come in from the Los Angeles area. I'm about 200 miles north of L.A.

There were three other agencies I contacted with my complaint but I have no idea what's going on with that. One agency makes it clear that they don't allow the complainant to know about any results.

I even played the race card but was never contacted back by that agency. ggrrrr Fat good they are!

Dave asked Sabrina to mail me any and all paperwork done for my orthopedic bed. She didn't, SURPRISE! SURPRISE! He was supposed to bring that paperwork by my home yesterday. He didn't. I called him today, left him a message and asked if, again as usual, my husband could go by his office and pick it up. No response.

Right now, I'm pretty fed up with the whole situation, but I can't rest until it's all settled. I have to keep reminding myself that just because they fixed one wheel that was non-operative, it's not enough. I WILL GET MY NEW CHAIR!!!

I sure would love to confront Sabrina face to face but I know I would get a pack of lies out of her, just like before. Besides, I don't want to make a fool of myself in public. I'd rather take the high road. gggrrrrrrrr

So there you have it, such as it is.

Growl away Sweetie! I have to say every time I see that Littleface I laugh because it seems so unlike you, and I wonder whats up? But growl away. I thought the same thing a Peg did, with health care front and centre these days a good human interest story might just be the ticket. Love ya and hang in there.
