Way too much

I just don't think I can deal with anymore. Too much death this year already.

We got word a few days ago that hubby's aunt has breast cancer. Well, upon further testing she has ovarian cancer as well. Things are not looking good for her as it seems to be in the advanced stages.

So, we were talking about how sad it was and what will happen to her two sisters that she is the sole caretaker for. One sister is wheelchair bound and the other one is disabled and uses braces. They all live together.

Anyway, the phone rings and we get word that the aunt in the wheelchair died. Not the one in the hospital with cancer, the one at home.

This happened a few hours ago. I guess she tried to get up and fell. Her sister couldn't help her so she called an ambulance. It was too late. They think she had a heart attack.

So, one sister is in the hospital and just learned the grim news of her cancer and the other sister is now dead.

We can't wrap our brain around this one.

Since January...

My mom died.

My favorite aunt died.

A week and a half later my cousin (that aunt's son) died.

Then my sister-in-law took her own life.

And now hubby's aunt, and soon to be another one.

It's just all so sad. It's way too much.

I know there are times in our lives when it seems that tragedy never ends in our lives.....one thing after another to the point like you said......'you can't take any more".

What helps me at times like this is trying to realize that each person has their own time that isn't based on what I am able to handle. As we know in our minds that there is a time to be born & a time to die. Trying to focus on what my mind knows rather than what my heart feels is what helps me get through times like this when I am feeling so overwhelmed.

I know when I was going through a similar period in my life, I found these words that also helped a little:

You don't get over it, you just get through it.
You don't get by it, because you can't get around it.
It doesn't get better; it just gets different.

All I can offer is a hug and just to say
that at times like this a family needs someone strong willed to fall back on and if the universe decides its you then take all our strength to help you through.

I find myself in the dark again.

Grieving my mother has stirred up my unresolved grief from the death of my father and brothers. I don't know who to grieve half the time. This is so hard.

It would be easy just to give up and follow the family. I'm feeling so left behind. I am ten-years-old again.

i know there are no words to help you in your grief. i'm here for you with lots of hugs, a shoulder to cry on, and a ear for listening.

Losing people is so hard and you have had a lot to deal with - you are a wonderful person and we all care about you here please take care of you ok - talk to someone in IRL about this ok - I want you to be safe my friend.

I'll be okay. Just very sad.

I haven't been home to visit my mother's grave and I really have been feeling the need, so I used Virtual Earth to find the cemetery. I found where my parents are but I couldn't get in too close to see the headstone.

I did the same for my brothers who are in another cemetery. Not being able to "visit" with them is hard sometimes.

T thinks a spat with p-doc caused me to tap into some really buried childhood sadness. It's all so freakin' hard.

those who are left to greive sometimes get looked over in the grand scheme of things.
I know I did and have had to get used too or block things out because my family is/was so big not to mention I married into a bigger family. So have just gotten used to death ( its a horrid thing to have to get used to but that is just what happens)
we tend to loose a member about 2-3 years apart so we just sort of get over 1 then have to meet again for the same thing ....
It makes family get together not as pleasant as it should be we have just gotten over the last one MIL ( not really gotten over but you know what I mean)

And my name keeps getting nearer to the top every day

So I can feel for you very much and give you BIG hugz
