WMD is very right here......I have been thinking about it a bit myself.....being all alone in life now......thinking that I was angry at my Mother for being her normal stupid self & ignoring her cancer for so long that it ended up killing her.....I can hang onto that anger, or I can choose to let it go & enjoy my life that doesn't need to dwell on the negative.......what is past is past....what is done is over & done with.....there is no going back & changing anything......we have to live in the now.
There comes a time when we have to put a period on it & get on with our lives.....they chose to live their lives & do with their lives what they wanted.....we have to do the same......what is the point is dwelling in the memories of what is past....over....gone.....it is what it is & it was what is was....nothing can change that.....but we can change our own lives & make sure we have learned what lessons we needed from the past & leave it at that.....going on & making a beautiful life for ourselves.......maybe the beautiful life we are grieving they can't be part of.....but why should we deny ourselves happiness because of their choices? The period is only the end of a sentence....not the end of the paragraph or the chapter.
I am so sorry at the loss of your uncle. I think that is sometimes why we have to let go of the things in the long ago past so we do have room for the feelings of the now.....especially when there is no relationship between the two occurrences.... I know logic sounds good, puttint into practice is something harder. I wish your family well.....hoping that you all can band together & help each other with your sorrow. Debbie

I am so very sorry... Take what you need and leave the rest...works for me when someone makes comparisons with my pain and theirs and does not respect the differences. Comparisons in my opinion have no place in a support forum. To share what someone has been through and what helped them can be helpful, however telling anyone, Anyone To Get Over It Right Now! is rude and belittles the sorrow we are doing our best to handle...
