I hope that you can get to a place in your life where you can look at those words & maybe see if there was really anything behind them except for meaness & a desire to hurt you.

If they were said out of trying to hurt you.....hopefully you will be able to tear up those words & throw them away into a fire where they will be burnt up never to hurt you again.

It isn't good to hold onto those kind of things even though it isn't easy to forget, but the more of those kind of things you hold onto, the harder your life will be.

I learned long ago (I am 52 now) that when things are said to me, I look at them. If there is something I needed to change in my life to improve myself so that I will be a better person then I try to make the needed changes & throw away the words. If I realize that the words are only there to hurt me....I quickly throw them away & take a look at myself.....saying that not everything that people tell me are true & I am really fine.....so take a hike.

I looked at my Mother who held on to everything she was told as the truth until the day she died, taking everything so personally that there were time I was afraid to say anything to her even trying to be with her until she died was very stressful for me to make sure I said just the right thing.

Letting go is not easy but is something we all need to train ourselves to do.
