I have known her most of my life and while we were never 'best' friends....I love her dearly! She is the mother of a girl I went to school with and she has been battling stage 4 colon cancer for two years now. That is a miracle in itself!!!! But, now, today we have all found out she is dying. She has been slowly losing for a while now but as of tonight they have called in hospice.

I cant quit crying. Not for me. Im crying for her daughter and husband and her mother. No parent should have to bury their child! Im crying because although she did live to meet her brand new grandson, she won't be there for Kelli as a first time mom. This all hurts a lot and reminds me of when I lost my Dad and I hate it for her!!

:'(

I know she is no longer in pain but I am seeing all these posts on facebook and am reminded of just how beautiful and loving this woman was. regardless of your stance on Christianity and suffering, it isn't fair. I agree on that. BUT I DO know a Christian and Valerie was one. I have NEVER known someone who can suffer for so lone (3 yrs with stage 4 colon cancer) and be so faithful and wonderful to everyone she meets. its amazing. she touched everyone she met in a way only we know ourselves. its amazing to see how loved she was.

this will be such a hard funeral. yet another highschool classmate of mine to bury a parent in a tragic way.

:'(

thank u for such a beautiful picture.

I feel selfish for crying. she wasn't my mom.

I'm sorry for your loss

Crying isn't a sign of weakness. It's a sign of having tried too hard to be strong for too long.
