Happy Tuesday all!

My 4-legged little girl passed away last Friday night of old-age related symptoms-she was 11 and would've been 12 on 3/15.

I spent 1/2 an hour with her that night holding her, loving her and petting her. She kissed me twice on the wrist and wagged her tail.

She stopped breathing at 11ish PM. We're having her cremated and put a nice picture of her on top of the box when we get the ashes back.

It's SO QUIET without her-I just hope there are lots of wild strawberries in Heaven because she loved to hunt and eat them!

Her name was Angel and I know she's a guardian angel now.

thanks for your support,

anxiety chick

Thanks, a friend came by today with a plant and asked if we were getting another dog. I replied not for awhile. I don't know if at all.

I am so sorry, OCDwoman. It is extremely difficult to put down a dog....just like losing a family member, imo.

Just wanted to say I care & that even though it's really quiet w/o her, she isn't in any pain.

Take care.

Desy

p.s.: In time, perhaps you can make a scrapbook of her -- that helped me a little bit.

Thanks, I found LOTS OF CUTE, SWEET pictures of her yesterday that I'll put in an album with some captions.

If you ever want a smart, sweet, cute and a LITTLE STUBBORN dog, get a Pug! Better yet, rescue one!

OCDW,

That's great. Thank goodness for the camera........

Yeah, pugs are really cute dogs. When I can afford it, I want either a rescue cairn or a rescue pug or another small (rescue) dog.

Take care.

Yes. That is very, very hard to deal with. Perhaps you can think of a serene place that you can bury her? That helped a bit for me w/ my late uncle & also my cousins' late dog. I would go there sometimes & "talk" to them. Yes, it sounds crazy, but I think it assists in achieving some sort of closure.

Or perhaps you can start a "peace garden" this spring & place her ashes there? You can put your favourite flowers there.........and some "Forget-Me-Nots", too.

Hope this helps.

This is Poem I got and it has always helped me to deal with the death of a pet..
I hope you enjoy..
Let it bring you some peace in this time of greif...

Rainbow Bridge -
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,
that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all
of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is
plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and
comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and
vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The
animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each
miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly
stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His
eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying
over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally
meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the
beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your
pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

((((OCDW)))) I am so sorry! I too have lost beloved furbabies, and I know how much it hurts.
