i got her when i was 10 im 25 now
last year my mom put her down and didnt tell me till 2days later
my dog saved me
she accepted me
she loved me
she was always there to hold and pet and be with
and now shes not
and i cant replace that feeling she gave me
i miss her
and although the pain has dulled it still hurts inside when i think of her and what i miss most

Doesn't sound silly. When my "babies" die, I'm absolutely heartbroken.

It doesn't sound silly at all, our pets become part of our heart, our lives.
I've lost several dogs and other pets, it was as heartbreaking as losing a human dear to us.
We shall always miss those, animal or humans, the best we can do till we all meet again (if we really do) is always keep them in our memories, forever they will be in our hearts.
I wish I had words of comfort for you, but I do not know if words will help, it's a matter of the heart. I know it hurts, I've lost my beloved dad, relatives, close friend and pets.
I feel for you, and wish for you better days to come.
Please take care,
DE

Bronee,

Dogs have a way of making you feel like a million dollars!!

I'm sorry for your loss.

When I was 13, my dog was hit by a car, and my mother didn't tell me for two days. Her rationale was that she wanted me to get used to not having the dog around before she told me, but it felt like she had betrayed me when she finally did tell me what happened.

How's the weather in Australia?

(((((Bronee)))))

Hugs,

EJ

Post about it, or anything, anytime, there are so many wonderful, supportive, and lovely people at PC.
And so many of us are here for you, some of us sharing similar heartaches and trials of our souls.
Please take care, and know there is always someone here that can relate to what you are going through or where you have been . . . or even where you may be going.
Many good wishes to you for healing, love, good health and inner peace.

It's not silly at all! I've had my dog, Shadow, for 13 years. The past 10 years of my life have been really difficult. (see my other post in this same forum). She has been the only constant friend - unconditional love- in my life for a decade. I just found out a month ago that she has cancer and they said she would only be around for 6 to 8 weeks then. I'm just trying to keep her happy for now, which is hard to do since dogs can sense what their owner's are feeling.
I am so sorry for you loss, and that you were not told about it until later.

I am sorry for your loss. It is good to be able to talk about it though and express your feelings. I am glad that you have so many wonderful memories of your friend!

Crying isn't a sign of weakness. It's a sign of having tried too hard to be strong for too long.
