My closest friend passed away unexpectedly last week.
Never smoked or taken drugs - for that matter never done anything that would cause harm to yourself. He collapsed and died from an undiagnosed brain tumor. like putting out a candle. there one minute, gone the next. He is 23... ? How am I feeling ? - I'm crying - that's a start I suppose. I don't know what to do. He is the one I confided in when I started self harming so many years ago. He is the one who was always there for me. What do I have left... Nothing ? I don't know what else to write

I am sorry for the unexpected death of your friend. It is hard to bear such sorrow alone. Do you have a therapist that you can turn to to help work through this grief?
Therapists share ways they help clients deal with grief. psychcentral.com/lib/therapists-spill-14-ways-to-get.../00017027 There are lots of compassionate people here that can make the load lighter by sharing and caring. Many people find compassionate, caring people here at PC. Some people find the forums give them the compassion and empathy they seek. http://forums.psychcentral.com Please feel free to private message me or any of the Community Liaisons by left clicking on the name in blue to the left of their post) for questions or just to share.

I appreciate your kind words. I really am struggling to come to terms with this. I'm overwhelmed by a feeling of guilt at the moment, which I know I shouldn't, but I can't stop it
![]() I used to have a therapist, but since I last required his services, he's now on the other side of the country after moving there with his wife. I may well take a drive to see him..
