Hi all,

Firstly, I would like to apologise for being absent from PC for a while, its all been hectic here of late, what with my new job, birthdays, deaths, anniversaies and funerals...all in the space of two weeks!

But the main reason I made this post, as you have most likely guessed by the title, is that I want to wish my recently deceased Nan a happy birthday for tomorrow, the 17th of May. she would be 85. HAPPY BIRTHDAY NAN!

Just to let you all know, the funeral for her was on monday, it went well, as funerals go I suppose. The day was nice, it was a nice service, and the rain held off all day too. Today (the 16th) was the 6 year anniversary of my Mums funeral, she died 6 years ago on the 3rd may. My Nan was burried next to my Num, and the service was at the same church as my Mums, so it was all wierd going back through the exact same cycle as before...bought many memories and emotions back.

We had a final house clearance at my nans house today, I got there after work today to find all the furniture gone, all the carpets removed, and everything pretty much gone. My aunt has been working on it today and yesterday, and it is so strange seeing it like that. It hit home today that my Nan will never be coming home. It hasn't sunk in properly up until now, even the funeral didnt allow it to. I guess with the funeral it was linked so closely to my Mums, that it kind of dis-illusioned me to the true extent of it all.

So thats how this week has been for me. I dont know what the plans are for tomorrow, for my Nans birthday...all the family are otherwise engaged so we cant celebrate as a family together tomorrow, so I think I might go to the cemetery on my own if the weather is ok and pay my tributes.

It's been a strange few weeks to say the least...I just want to get the next week and a half out the way, as I am off to Kenya on the 29th of May, so I am focusing on that for now.

Speak to you all soon, hope you are all well.

{{{{{{HAPPY BIRTHDAY NAN}}}}}}}

Simon

Thanks so much for taking a few minutes to update us all. Sounds like a crazy couple of weeks for you. I'm glad you have the trip to Kenya to keep you busy now. Keeping busy is good.

Take good care of YOU, (((((((((simon))))))))))
