a speaker came into my high school the other day and held an assembly type thing. the guy spoke of suicide and how hard it is to loose someone who took their own life. he had everyone who had lost someone who committed suicide come up to the stage. i went up there. i was so terrified. he had us all get into a circle and hold hands. and he said that we all tried to be there for our loved ones who passed, but just because they took their life doesnt mean we did something wrong. and we can still be there for them. he also said that we should be there for eachother because we all lost someone to suicide. he talked for about 15 minutes to us. it was so hard for me to stand there and not cry. i lost 3 friends who committed suicide. i got mad at the speaker because he thought that he knew us and our stories. but then when he was all done, i felt like a load was lifted from my shoulders. and for the first time i could look up and tell my friends that i miss them, instead of getting mad at them for doing such a thing.
i just thought i would share that. and maybe it will have an effect on you like it did me.

I think suicide is the hardest deaths any of us can go thru. so senseless to me. I know depression stinks and sometimes I have thought about it myself. you have my deepest sympathies. I too have lost a very close relative to suicide and even now some 38 yrs later it still hurts.
