Today is Memorial Day in the US where we commemorate those lost in wars and those we are close to who have passed on.
It is a sad day when we have had people we are close to that are no longer here. Tears will not bring them back but tears come anyway. To all who have had to say goodbye to someone, I extend my sympathy and share in your sorrow.  Hugs to you all.

Thanks for this. Being old myself, all of the extended family I grew up with are long since gone. Curiously though, I don't miss any of them nor do I think much about them. Who I really miss is our Schnoodle... Joey... who we had in our lives for around 14 years until he passed away due to a combination of old age (he was around 16 or 17 years old when he passed) and chronic kidney disease. We still miss him every day.
