A Death

There was a death yesterday. A young man of 21 years hung himself. Over a girl??? Who really knows? everyone can speculate. I don't know how to handle this... I am a friend of the family and MY SON found him. Monday I was suicidal - have been on and off since I was 17..... I understand , I think??? They took him yesterday morning to be evaluated at the mental health clinic... they said he was ok and let him go... he is dead now --- only 2 hours later... Why did anyone leave him alone???

I think its hard for people who don't have our issues to understand us or anybody depressed like us. I had a cousin do that very same thing last summer.

I don't live in the same state or if have been there. I know this is tough on you

Gabby, I have been through the trauma of having a loved one commit suicide. It seems there are questions that will never really get answered...even I think of things that I could have done that might have help prevent the tragedy. My thoughts go out to you and to your son. I am truly sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry Gabby. I am going thru something like this with myself. My BF just walked out on me so I can understand how being left like that can turn one to want to take ones own life (I won't do it, just saying I know what it feels like).
If someone is intent on taking their own life then there is nothing anyone can do about that.
I know what you mean, though, about why did they let him out so soon?! I have never heard of someone being let out so quickly. Hmmm. My sister VOLUNTARILY committed herself last Thursday and they wouldn't let her out til Monday even though she did everything "right" in there.
I suppose it is up to the individual facility?

i have unfurtunately had a similar experience i seen one of my friends try to take there life over a girl and i myself have tempted it life for some is harder then for others all you can do is hope that just maybe you can make someone feel better that is what we are all here to do i think god put people here on earth to make others happy now some of us lose track of what is important and need a lttle reminder but it is truely sad what happend to your friend and who knows maybe if the hospital had done there job and further investigated like they should have maybe he would still be around it is a question many are probably asking them selfs i bet keep your head up and stay strong some one out there needs you
