Thank you all.

My mom was my one and only support in my family. We had such a conflicted relationship and she was taken so suddenly from the world. I didn't have the chance to say goodbye, or to tell her I love her...

And it seems like no one else even knows in my family. I'm an only child, so I have no sibs to turn to for support. Just me and my dad. I asked him what today was, and he said, "Uh... Flag Day?" And this literally right after having talked about her death, which he does way too often for my comfort. He was talking about Tim Russert, RIP, who apparently had an enlarged heart, and started asking me if that might be how my mom died. I kept yelling him and saying it was COPD, mainly, but he just kept talking about the day she died, how she was struggling; I couldn't be there at the hospital cuz I was passed out in an Ambien coma.... I feel sick....

I don't know what to do... I think I'm just gonna curl up in bed for a while.

Thanks,

anniversary

J

I'm so sorry you're in pain. I have no words that will relieve it. anniversary

Everyday sucks when our loved ones are no longer with us, but anniversaries rip the wound right open. I thinks it's only natural for you to be grieving this hard.

As far as your father is concerned, does he have any brothers or sisters you could call and talk to about him? Or a friend of his? You need to let someone know. It sounds like he is immersed in grief and needs help.

Is there someone at school you could talk to?

Hang in there. Maybe someone else will come along and offer some ideas on how to help.

Thank you Orange Blossom.

Unfortunately, I have no brothers or sisters, and my extended family and I aren't on the most comfortable terms: they all pretty much hate my dad. He definitely needs some sort of psychological help, but he doesn't have insurance and I highly doubt I could convince him to go to therapy. I don't know what to do...

At least I survived this day, and without hurting myself or getting wasted at that. I just hope I feel better tomorrow. I feel like crap right now.

Thanks everyone,

anniversary
