I'm wondering if anyone here has ever torn a muscle before. I tore a muscle in my forearm in mid-April and it still gives me pain. Not all the time but if I try and do anything physical it gets really sore. How long to these things take to heal? I went to the doctor about it and they determined I did not have tendon damage, so it should be just a matter of time, but good lord, this really sucks.

A torn muscle? Really? I mean, and because it wasn't the tendon they aren't doing anything for you??? Criminy!

Well, I don't know for sure, but I have had a torn tendon and that took years of work and exercise and injections to help me get back.. and sometimes I think it's still a problem (but that side was the main impact side for my accident so who knows?)

You need professional help like a physical therapist! They will determine whether you still need to rest it or if you should begin therapy with/for it... and what and how much.

Please take care of yourself. If you ignore it, you might lose use of the arm .. from what I hear... (((hugs)))

I went to the doctor, they took some x-rays and had me do a couple of tasks, but that was it. Basically their advice was, "Eh, if it doesn't start to get better in a month, give us a call." Thanks for nothing I should have told them.

I golfed nine holes Sunday (golfing is how I originally hurt myself) and it felt pretty good. No acute pain while swinging, it is more sore than normal but only when I stretch it out. Hopefully I've turned a corner.

OOOOO Golfing is so difficult and taxing on the body. My physical therapist says if you do it correctly, it uses every muscle in your body! )(That's why when I'm really doing poorly both physically and emotionally I tell him I'm going to take up golfing. LOL He turns pale.)

Glad it isn't torn. Take it easy and do light stretching and maybe it's be a hole-in-one shortly!
