I'm basically giving a short version of this because all the details are either boring or hard to think about. And I typed the long version and my computer froze so I don't feel like retyping it all.
A few weeks ago I went to my yearly eye appointment as usual. They did the field of vision test and I missed the lower right part as usual, but I guess this time they were bored and wanted to find out why. 2 more eye doctors saying the same thing (probably optic tract lesion or something) and my mom finally told me what was going on. When I was 3 months old my dad threw me because I wouldn't stop crying. My head hit the floor but my body landed on a pillow. Short version of what happened: fractured skull, 3 days in a coma, so much blood in/on/around (however they say it) my brain I had a blood transfusion, IVs in the bone in my leg which fractured it (vertically ![]() The last eye doctor I went to wants an MRI because my mom didn't tell him what was causing everything. I'm working on talking her/them out of it. I don't see why I need it, we know what the problem is ![]() |

I'm so sorry this happened to you.
I can't tell from your post if your doctor knows what happened when you were an infant. Your doctor needs to know everything so he knows how to treat you properly and effectively. An MRI tells your doctor what is going on right now, and knowing this will be make your medical care right now most effective. |

I would just do the MRI anyway, I am curious what my brain looks like (lol)but the doctor wants it with contrast and I have a really bad fear of needles, to the point that I've slept like 3-5 hours a night since I found out about it. |

((XX Not Emo XX)) - I'm sorry this happened to you and I'm glad your mom told you what happened. I also think you should still do the MRI - maybe you can take a mild tranquilizer when you have the test.

Well they are going to give me anti-anxiety stuff, twice as much as what they gave my mom when she had an MRI once. I guess I kinda freaked out about the needle part (didn't talk or look at anyone for about 3 hours) so they doubled it LOL. I don't know why this is stressing me out so much, I'm not afraid of pain. Fears can be so strange sometimes...

GOOD NEWS!!!
so on the calendar on the fridge where the MRI time was written I scratched it out and wrote (with an arrow pointing to what's scratched out) "waste of time, I'm not going." Immature, I know. But sometimes I'm bad at...talking. lol. Just a few minutes ago my mom told me she's going to call the doctor and postpone and not reschedule it. Not just cancel it so the doctors won't get annoying about it. I CAN FINALLY SLEEP!!! Anyway, thanks to everyone who replied ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The eye problems you are having now might not necessarily be related to the abuse you suffered. There could be something else going on. And even if it is related, there might be something to do that could help you. Getting checked out is a really good idea.
I hope, whatever you choose, your health improves. |

Remember... hard is not impossible. Things that are difficult are limited; they have a beginning and and end. Focusing on the MRI being over could help. Not having the MRI won't help you.
