This is for my cousin...
"Hi, thank you for your time. I am 28 years old, 77 kilograms, 173 centimers; I work out and I had taken human growth hormone a single instance about 10 months ago; and something happened to me and I am confused as to what it may have been. After I had taken it; a couple of minutes later I had passed out and became unconscious for about 2-5 minutes and I gained consciousness by myself. I did some research online but I couldn't come to a conclusion on the possibilities on what may have happened. Is this possibly a sign of diabetes or what may it possibly have been? One note: I took a date and I became better after I regained consciousness but my body was cold for at least 20-30 minutes and I was very low on energy. Thank you again for your time and help." Thanks again for your time people. I love this message board. It is a GREAT resource and is very much appreciated. |

ILoveKnowledge, unfortunately nobody here is really medically qualified to give that kind of advice. My best advice would be that your cousin see a doctor if that situation was troubling.

Was it an injection? then possibly it could be just the "shock" so to speak of having injected himself with something? Like fainting with needles. You don't necessarily have to be afraid of needles or anything. It's a vasovagal attack and your blood pressure drops so you black out and go horizontal so it's easy to pump blood to the heart/brain/vital organs. And afterwards you generally feel cold and clammy and malaised.

Your cousin definitely needs to go to the doctor; it does not look like any of the "normal" side effects for HGH and I doubt that one injection would cause those anyway (diabetes). As watchthestarsfall says, could have been shock or, I was thinking maybe it was not really HGH or was mixed with something else (since the Mayo Clinic says an HGH shot can cost in the thousands of dollars; it could have been "cut" with something bad).

Thanks for your response everyone! What kind of "specialist" doctor would you recommend for him to go see? Thanks again

Usually one goes to one's primary care physician, often an Internal medicine MD and they may/may not refer him to an Endocrinologist MD.
