sorry your knee and toe, foot are acting up but I know the feeling. I hae had several surgeries on my knees and I feel it when a storm is coming!

Well, I have decided to take today off because I have so much to do. I need to get my house clean today so that will be my exercise!

I am really ashamed to say i do not do any exercise at all! I do however have to pull myself upstairs on my bum, use the upper body strength i have to manouvre myself around my home, pull myself up onto the loo, bath etc. I also have a constant trial just to stay sitting upright without nose diving or keeling sideways so everything i do is trying and exercise for my muscles!!! I do love water so swim (using only my arms) 10-15 lengths as often as i am able though, so i suppose this is my exercise! i wish i could do more as i really need to lose weight but find whenever i do I do not have the energy left to pull upstairs to bed that evening!
Thanks for this!

Give it a try in the new year yellowted! Always a good time to try something new. If you would like me to help get a program together for you, join the fitness group...I believe it is listed as Skully's fitness group or something like that. I can design a program around what you are willing to do! The link to the fitness group is in my signature!

I ran yesterday and this morning...it felt ok,not too much strain on the back. At this point I don't care, I miss running and am going to run no matter what!

Happy new year all...

I've been going to pt for several weeks now and I think it is helping. We are working on my low abs to help stablize my pelvic muscles, reduce the strain on my back muiscles. I still have pain, but it is getting better

Yesterday she started me stretching the tight calf muscles, plus she stretched me out using passive stretching rather than me doing the exercises myself. And Electrical Stimulation since I was so tender. I must have overdone it with the home exercises, even though they are very easy stretches.

Today I will walk Jack a mile. Then come back inside and do the stretches. It is standing in the kitchen cooking that bothers me the most, so I'll do the exercising BEFORE I start making potato soup to see if that works better for me.

Take care all of you and keep moving!
Thanks for this!

Great job Be!

I got great news, I found another neurologist today and have an appointment next week with him!

Hopefully he can get to the bottom of things and something can be done soon. I have started running again, just a couple of miles each morning, but at least it is something!

Great. Hope the new neurologist can be helpful. It's really the pits to be in pain to begin with, but to have someone who totally doesn't know how to treat your "real" problem! That's worse.

Glad you are able to do some running.
Thanks for this!

Glad you are trying to stay motivated. I know at times it is hard...it is hard for me right now as well.

Well, back to physical therapy I go. The doctor ordered another 6 weeks for core stregthening exercises and traction....oh boy what fun! NOT. Oh well, I am going to keep running anyway. I try to do at least 2 miles each day. That is about my limit with the back issues right now. So, I will keep plugging away!

I used to mix in a couple of raw eggs with my protein powder. You can go to any health store and get a good protein powder. That will also help recover from your walking/jogging on the treadmill. Good job about controlling the cigarette smoking...that is never good while you are working out. I know because I am a smoker too.

It is ok, I understand about the smoking. But try to cut it down a little at a time, it will allow you to breath better and you will get more oxygen to your muscles

Is there a way to make abdominal exercise interesting? I am so bored with them and over time, the more fit / strength I get, the more I have to do. I really dislike doing them in the first place but love the results. Any suggestions?

you can mix it up by using medicine balls and trying different types of exercises. Do a google search to find different ways to work the abdominal muscles

I didn't do anything today...woke up to a big ice storm so I couldn't run outside and my back is really hurting bad today. I think it may be because of the weather that is happening right now. At least I hope so. I put Lidoderm patches on my back and that made it somewhat better. I hope to get on my treadmill tomorrow morning. The roads will still be too icy to run on. I hate the treadmill but I will do what I have to do to get the run in
