I have a question that I need to ask, but I don't want to offend anyone. If someone is able to help me with my question I'd appreciate it if you would PM me. Thank you so much!

My boyfriend and I have been having lots of sex lately, however last sunday all of a sudden out of no where it was extremely pain ful, like a burning stinging feeling, like razor blades were scraping inside of me. We gave it a break for a good week and it still hurts just as bad. I'm wondering how serious this is. If I should wait to see if it clears up in another week or go to the dr asap?

I'd go to the doctor regardless...it could very well be something serious.

I would recommend seeing a doctor about it. It could be a number of things, including an infection, or it could be psychological. You need to get it checked out, and the sooner the better.

thanks... I always HATE visiting the "women's" doctor if at all possible. But I even told my b.f. that I think I might have to. He feels badly, because he thinks he's the reason for my pain...I told him that I doubt it's his fault at all.

Yeah, I was thinking a possible yeast infection, too. I have pain with intercourse, but I've had several diagnoses...included yeast (but it still hurt after getting that cleared up), being misshapen, and not being stretched enough. I've always had the pain, though. You should definitely see a gynecologist.

Yeah, but she said it hurts during the act, which I don't recall being the case during a yeast infection. Then again, when I have a yeast infection, I don't want anyone touching me down there so I don't know if I know what it would feel like to have sex with it. She didn't mention itching, which for me is the #1 indicator of a yeast infection.

I'm wondering if it's a bacterial infection. That happened to me once, and while I felt fine, I ended up bleeding during sex and it turned out that the walls of my hoo-hoo were all irritated and raw because of the bacteria. Didn't hurt, though.

Maybe you just need a break? Or, there are certain times of the month when you're less... um... juicy than others. However, razor blades is a pretty extreme description so yeah, you'll have to get yourself to the icky doctor and get the spatula treatment after all. Why don't people like going to the icky doctor, anyway? I'm afraid NOT to go. Not that it's fun, but I want to know what's going on down there at all times! I'd start freaking out if I didn't go regularly.

I have a condition called "vulvodynia" and it involves very painful sensations making sex impossible at times. I was diagnosed by a GYN and referred to another GYN who was a specialist. For many years I was treated as if I had a UTI, yeast or other bacterial infections. Except that whenever a culture was collected - the results would be negative.

http://www.vulvarpainfoundation.org/

Here is a link to a web site that helped me understand my condition better. I also got lots of great info frm the specialist. Each person is different and has different triggers that can cause a flare up. For me it is nutrition - if I skip meals, I am likely to come down with a flare-up. Chocolate also can likely cause a flare-up. Eating peppers helps a lot. In fact, if I eat peppers several times during the week and lay off the chocolate - I can feel comfortable enough to consider getting together with my husband.

Good luck - make an appointment as soon as you can. A culture will confirm if infection or not.

Thanks everyone for all of you replies and support. My boyfriend and I discussed the problem and thought it might have been too much sex but we gave it a week and it was still just as bad. We thought maybe I wasn't lubricated enough so we tried lots of foreplay AND extra lubrication, it wasn't that. He made me promise to make a doctor's appointment and won't have sex with me untill we find out what's going on. I appreciate his concern, the earliest appointment is next tuesday, he will be coming with.

Oh I can understand the not wanting to go.

I burst into tears every time and usually have to take my clonazepam before I go or else I will literally fight and scream and hit to avoid it.

One time I went into the ER with a UTI that was still hurting, and they made me have a pap smear ( i say they made me, well, I agreed but only because I was afraid and they sort of bullyed me into the room) and it was this horrible old man doctor (no offence to old man doctors) and i cried and cried and cried the whole way through.. It was horrible. Now I only go if I absolutely have to, and ill only see the female doctors at the planned parenthood clinic, Cause I know they will probably never see me again.

Im weird like that though.

Oh and about the friction: Any rubbers with texture or studs or ribs make me hurt like heck. I had to stop using all but the regular ones. Also spermicide hurts the crap out of my parts too.

I'm alright... we took a trip to wisconsin this weekend to meet all of his family. So we haven't had a chance to have sex. He's bringing me to the doctor tommorow to see what is going on with my girl parts! It was so cute he told me it just wasn't my problem but OUR problem and will help in any way he can!

I went to the dr today, it's a yeast infection. She perscribed an oral pill that you take once. She also gave me 3 refills for future infections.

I've never been told that (about the guy being treated) by an icky dr except when I was sleeping with (ok, married to) a guy who, ahem, wasn't, um, genitally modified. But it makes sense -- I just never thought about it until now.

However, most of my yeast infections come from bike riding if I don't take a shower right away. And as I mention, nobody's touchin' LMo's hoo-hoo if she has a Y.I. so there is no chance of spreading the love.

Spaz, I'm really glad for you, btw... I admit that I was worried that it was going to be something much worse, especially since you didn't complain about itching...
