GL, you might want to double check your calorie counts on the package. I went on calorieking.com and it shows that a serving of 5 ginger snaps has 150 calories. Weight loss thread part deux

I'll check out calorieking.com. I've been using FitDay and it isn't the greatest.

To tell you the truth, I'm not sure any of my calorie counts are accurate. I purged after the ravioli and ginger snaps. Not sure how many calories I absorbed.

Thanks for the tip though. Maybe I underestimate my calorie counts.

I have an exercise bike but the seat kills my...uh...well, seat. Weight loss thread part deux So I haven't been able to use it. However, I did get a new workout DVD that I just love (which is totally not me). I look forward to doing it each night.

As far as the M&Ms...6 a day isn't the end of the world and honestly I wouldn't find them that big a deal (hmmm...maybe thats how I got this way lol). Maybe try and have them every other day and then every 2 days or something like that. Go off them slowly. According to the doctor that created the South Beach diet, if you can go without sweets (i.e. chocolate) for 2 weeks your cravings for the stuff goes down. For me, I find that very true.

If your body won't lose any more weight maybe its as small as it's going to get and still be healthy. I don't know. Maybe ask a doctor.

That sounds really high to me. I don't think I really ate that much today. I think I ate a normal amount. I think maybe my caloric estimates are too high? If there's no mistake, I should have gained a lot of weight from my diet of many years, but I haven't.

I don't know if my caloric estimates are correct for the Tai chicken and Tai tofu curry. I didn't actually eat a lot of it. You know how Chinese food is? Well, you eat mostly the rice and have a bit of the food to go with the rice. We take a bit from each dish and eat the rice with it. I don't think I ate too much of each dish.

I also don't think I ate 2 servings of Doritos, now that I think about it. I wanted of overestimate just to be safe.

Do I really eat that much? Golly, I must have a high metabolism for something then!

Day 6

1 whole wheat pita 160
2 blades romaine lettuce 7
1/6 cup skim milk cheese 40
2 slices turkey 40
2 tablespoons low fat ranch dressing 50
----------------------------------------------------------
297 kcal

As I'm looking at it, you need more protein and whole grains.

There isn't any nutrition in all of the white rice, chips, cookies and candy that you're eating. The carbs you're eating don't fill you up, or keep you feeling full, so you want more soon after.

Perhaps I should change the title of this thread to HEALTHY weight loss. Weight loss thread part deux

You're right about the chips and cookies. I really should stop eating so many of those. The white rice, I can't stop eating because it's a staple food. My family eats it everyday as our main food. Chinese people have been eating it for thousands of years, I think it should be okay to eat. Weight loss thread part deux

So far no one in my family has gotten fat from eating rice. I don't consider myself fat either. I think I mostly need to get in shape. I'm going to try to do that by riding my stationary bike everyday.

I just had a bad day yesterday, but the days before I ate pretty healthy. I'm eating healthy today too.

Mine is between 105 and 110. Probably closer to 105 now that I've gotten older and lean muscle mass has been replaced with fat.

I have about 5 pounds to go.

I'm so out of it. I weighed today... 197! I gained 3 lbs in trying to lose, I think (I think it's 3, not I think I was trying heheh)

But just this week I put on a size 10 slack (tight enough that I wouldn't wear it out, but it wasn't uncomfortable!) DOES NOT MAKE SENSE.

I'm slowly going out of my mind I think Weight loss thread part deux

I will definitely flunk the refrigerator test.

I've been trying, but really slacking off lately. At least now I have the dog who needs walking several times a day, and she's a fast walker.

Hey there - I'm not going to be able to post on this on any kind of regular basis, but I'll chime in. I have been riding my bike 30 minutes to work each day (and 30 minutes home... unless I go to a different part of town after work, then it's more). My pants are fitting better. Since I haven't been home, I've been eating more regular meals, plus I've been sick so haven't had much of an appetite. I don't ever EVER weigh myself (sets me too far back, psychologically) -- I just judge based on the pants I can fit into and how I feel like I look in a bra and underwear.

I want to lose one size and get back into my size 6 jeans. I think I can do this.

i've been having talapia fish..i put olive oil in a baking dish. coat the filet with it and put it flat in pan. i put a choice of: sliced onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, frozen spinach, sliced squash or zucchini on it...after i've seasoned it. sometimes i use curry and other times i use salt and pepper or a sesame seed mix that i have.

i bake it at 350 and it takes no time at all. it is a complete meal and everything in it is good for us. even with the olive oil calories..it's still healthy. shirley, it's economical also. i am amazed at how far a bag of the filets go for me. it is very mild and is so good with any seasoning......colleen turned me on to this..and tomi mentioned dipping it into some type of coating and sauteing it. i am trying that next. ethel

Me too! Ever since exams ended, I've been eating junk food non stop. I've been eating chips, cookies and ice cream. I eat chips and cookies everyday. I'm too afraid of stepping on the scale right now, but I know I gained everything back. I'm probably 116 lbs by now.

I'm looking for a job right now and I'm home a lot. There's a lot of junk food at home. My Mom likes her junk food. She recently bought 10 bags of chips because they were on sale.

The good thing is that I discovered walking today. I walked 5.4 miles today and burned 443 calories. It felt really good and it was totally doable! Tomorrow I will walk 21 km (13 miles) to burn 1000 calories. I have a lot of time to walk right now since I haven't found a job yet. I'm going to walk everyday now, even if it rains.

I bought a food scale from e-Bay, but I haven't received it yet. I'm hoping it will help me out with portion sizes. I'm determined to get back on track...this time around I will focus less on food and more on exercise and see if it works. The only exercise I like doing is walking, so I will do a LOT of walking. I love walking. Weight loss thread part deux

If I can burn 1000 calories a day from walking (roughly 6 hours of walking), I can eat 2000 calories a day and still be able to lose weight, right? I don't plan on eating 2000 calories a day, but it's nice to know that I could and it wouldn't affect my diet too much.

I'm psyched up about walking. I walked the 5.4 miles and my legs felt a little tired right after the walk, but 20 mins later, they aren't tired at all. There's no pain or anything. It's a great form of exercise! I can walk forever!

Tomorrow I will walk 21 km (13 miles) in total. I'll take several walks.

I'll let you know how it goes!

I didn't walk 13 miles today, I only walked 5.8 miles. It was raining nearly all day today. I walked when the rain wasn't as heavy.

I ate junk again today. Weight loss thread part deux

I have to tape my mouth shut or something.

I've put back 3 pounds. Bleh.

I don't know what happened. I was so mindful of what I was eating before. Now the chips and candy are too tempting again.

I bought myself a food scale from e-Bay. It just arrived. Now I can count calories accurately.

I just came back from a long weekend adventure to meet online friends and an administrator. I didn't diet on the trip. Tomorrow I will get back on track. Not too much harm has been done.
